Publisher's Summary

Be proud of life's battle scars, it means you were stronger than whatever hurt you, and you didn't die - and Anita Blake, vampire hunter and US Marshal will be the first to show you hers in this sweet and sexy story of celebration and connection from number-one New York Times best-selling author Laurell K. Hamilton.

Anita attends the wedding of her close friend but finds that even on the happiest of days there are wounds that need healing. She and the wereleopards Micah and Nathaniel are asked to talk to the bride's 13-year-old brother, Tomas, who is struggling to recover from a recent gunshot wound. Depressed and demoralized, Tomas isn't doing his physical therapy and could spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair....

How can Anita, Micah, and Nathaniel convince Tomas that he can heal when he's given up? They tell him about their own scars and how they took back their own lives after they were wounded. And Anita will realize how lucky they are to have not only survived their pasts, but to now be able to make their own formal commitment to each other - and the vampire in her life....

not as good as the first one.

I lost interest a bit but gained it back when they started talking to Tomas. I liked finding out what he was going through after being shot. I like the outtake books.

too short

I've become to love the story lines each and every one but this book without action shows that something is truly missing even though you love each of them. the action just let's you remember how you came to do it.

Wonderful Afternoon Listen

This is a nice side story, light hearted and brief compared to Anita Blake's normal work ridden life style. Enjoyed the short story very much.

Everyone loves a wedding

Out takes that readers demanded. More side characters, more of Anita Blake's adventures and the characters are terrifyingly seductive and fun.

More side stories would be GREAT!

This was such a satisfying little blurb! I would love to see more of Edwards home life, or how about an update with Dolf and the rest of the St. Louis PD!? Or maybe even a meeting with the mysterious Dragon! Also, the Traveler seemed like a tentative ally, I’d be interested in what happened to him.

I would also love to visit Cape Cod. I loved the introduction of merfolk/sirens.
