Story
With Glasshouse, Stross pens a Kafkaesque tale set in a 27th-century of teleport gates and mind-attacking network worms. After Robin awakes in a clinic, he struggles to summon details of his life, but too many of his memories have been wiped clean. More troubling is the stark awareness of immediate danger: someone is trying to kill him. On the run, Robin makes a desperate gamble and volunteers for what he hopes is the sanctuary of an unusual study at the Glasshouse. Once there, however, he realizes the true terror has only begun.

Publisher's Summary
Prolific novelist Stross pauses to collect short stories that have not (yet) been stitched up into his longer work. Stories that move the US - USSR conflict onto a massive disk in another galaxy (Locus Award-winner "Missile Gap"), offer a spam-filter solution to the Fermi paradox ("MAXOS"), and suggest clever bargains with the devil in a newly frozen Scotland ("Snowball's Chance") demonstrate Stross's ability to crisscross genres, blending SF, fantasy, horror, and espionage.

A collection of “short” stories, read May 2020

Anything by Charles Stross is worth reading
Where does Wireless rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Definitely in my top 10, I'm searching for anything by Charles Stross at this point.
What other book might you compare Wireless to and why?
It is just great writing, and a riveting story - no specific book comparison Mr Stross creates a unique world all his own.
What does Paul Hecht and Robert Ian Mackenzie bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
They really bring the characters to life, and enhance the humor of the writing. Their narration really feeds the imagination without any jarring notes that bring you back to earth with a jolt.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, please!
Any additional comments?
Love the author, and the narrators - can't get enough of books written by Charles Stross, and also looking out for other books read by these narrators, they are that good.

Not what I expected
Would you try another book from Charles Stross and/or Paul Hecht and Robert Ian Mackenzie ?
Maybe.
Any additional comments?
The stories were so far away from the type of scifi and techno-thriller that I like that I couldn't keep up or stay interested.
