Interesting story

I was very intrigued with the story line. I love stories where a characters powers are still developing as something new can always pop up. Nothing is impossible. I thought the characters were well developed. There are a lot of main characters so I am still looking forward to learning more about them but that is to be expected. Book 2 should hopefully clear up some of the unknowns.

Narration was good- Laurel has a beautiful voice and a great accent for this book.

Different for me

Every once in a while, I like to venture out of my comfort zone and listen to a book that is not my usual genres of choice. This one popped up at just the right time, I needed a break and Skye MacKinnon gave it to me! Wynter is a demigod that has reached the age where her magic would come into full force. Her mother has sent for her to come to the realm and to escort her are 4 guardians. I could not help but see these men as male muses and with that I kept it in my head as a Greek God type of story, almost cartoonish at times. With the adventure that Wyn has set out on, the protection of these four men and the danger she was up against, the book was full of mystery, intrigue and passion. MacKinnon is very creative with her imagery, and I loved how completely awkward Wynter is, which for me made her a more relatable character. The book is a nice change of pace.

This story has so much going on that it needs an incredibly talented narrator. Laurel Schroeder is the perfect fit, with her many distinguishable voices, the convincing accents and her wonderful story telling ability. I loved her performance!

Fun, flirty, reverse harem goodness!

This was a very enjoyable introduction to the series. You're introduced to the main characters and given just enough storyline to get you interested in what is to come. The interactions between the MC and her guardians is fun and flirty. It adds a bit of lightness and humor to the story.

The narrator did a great job! Her accents were wonderful. You would have though more than one person was doing the reading! She was really able to bring each character to life in their own unique way.

I really look forward to listening to the rest of the series!

Winter Princess

Wyn is a demi-goddess and her mother has sent her to the earth to live with the humans in hopes of protecting her. She has sheltered her, her entire life. Not giving her much information on her magic or what life is really like in her mothers world. On her 22nd birthday her magical powers will choose a path but her human family have not been prepared for what is about to happen. Her mother makes a mistake in not sending for her sooner. Her new guards must protect and teach her how to handle her changes while trying to get her to her mothers palace. Laurel Schroeder does an amazing job on the narration.

Great story

I didn’t know what I was getting when I purchased this book. I purchased because of Laurel Schroeder narration so I missed the part of it being a revered harem. I am usually not a fan of sex scenes or multiple partners. That being said it was so tastefully done and well written as well as being such an intricate part of the story that I didn’t mind. Winter Princess has a great story like with well developed characters the only thing I didn’t like was that it ended. I will picking up the next book in the series right away.

Different and entertaining read

I really enjoyed this story. It was completely different from what I was expecting, different from anything I’ve read before, and I loved it! It’s full of magic and wonder that kept me entertained from beginning to end. I can’t wait for book 2.
Laurel Schroeder is one of my favorite narrators, and the reason I listened to this book. That said, I was completely amazed by her performance. Her narration is ALWAYS fabulous, but this time she has outdone herself. Her character voices and accents were outstanding and absolutely brought this story to life!

Fantastically Written and Performed

This is a really good fantasy with adult content. The character Winter is modest but her magic is lustful. It makes for a humorous duo considering they are in one body and surrounded by sexy guardians. Laurel Shroeder is one of my favorite narrators and she didn't disappoint. She does a mans voice better than most men. I'm looking forward to the next book.

Beautiful 💞

Magical, sexy and funny.
I mean who wouldn’t want 4 hot guardians surrounding and protecting you at all times?
This was an interesting story about a young lady becoming a real magical princess who begins her quest to learn her own magic and control her power.
Narration was good!

Ending leaves you hooked

I am left with lots of questions regarding the princess. I like her character but don't understand everything she is dealing with. The guardians are hot and forthright, just the way I like them ;) Overall I was a little confused on where the story was going but the epilogue spoken by the queen has me hooked for another book. The narrator did a fantastic job, really enjoyed all the voices. Felt very natural. Looking forward to book 2.

Great Story, Great Narration!

This is the first book of this fantastic Series, The Daughter of Winter. I love Wyn and her four hot guardians, Arc, Crispin, Storm and Frost. Their journey to reach the Realms of Gods, where Wyn's Mother is waiting for her, is captivating, action packed and fast paced. The Epilogue is intriguing. Now, I can't wait for the next book in the Series. The narration was well done, as always with Laurel Schroeder. She has the perfect voice for this Paranormal Reverse Harem.

My Thoughts on Winter Princess

This series starter blew me away. Within the first few chapters I was absolutely hooked. I love the characters, the suspense, the intrigue. I love the steadily developing relationship between Wyn and her guardians. I just loved it all. I was even ok with the cliff hanger ending, but only because I get to jump right into the next story asap.

I loved the narration. Laurel Schroder is one of my favorites and I hope she continues to narrate all of these because she just has one of those voices that is entertaining and has a broad range for the different characters.

Bring on Book 2!

Talk about leaving you wanting more! This book was fantastic I can’t wait to get book 2 started...I need more!
Magic, Demons, Steaming sexual chemistry, intrigue, Battles, humour and unicorn farts.
Sky MacKinnon had me gripped from the beginning and didn’t loosen that grip in the least throughout or at the end.
Laurel Schroeders characterisation is wonderful and she handles the accents well. I especially like the way she purrs Wins hormonal adolescence to life.

I NEED MORE!!!!

With the exception of a minor thing that I didn't fully agree with, I really adored this book. And the thing that I didn't really agree with is something that I'm beginning to come around to. At the beginning I was flabbergasted. At the end, it made a lot of sense to me. I guess I wish the approach had been different. I'd love to see some back story to this series. Maybe some memories of Win's childhood would be beneficial to the story line. Obviously not the childhood in general, but some memories involving her mother. Maybe some memories of her mother as well. All in all, I really really enjoyed this book and I'm so happy that I had the chance to read it. I want more! I wholeheartedly fully recommend this book!

A fabulous story beautifully brought to life

I read this story when it was first published and when I saw it was on audio I just had to get it as I enjoyed the story so much. I have listened to other stories narrated by Laurel Schroeder so I was intrigued as to what she would sound like narrating this story and let me tell you I was NOT disappointed!!!

The narrator really captures the essence of Wyn, she really bought all the characters to life and did justice to the exciting story being read, I love audio books but a few of my favourite books I bought on audio and was disappointed with the narrator but I am so glad this was not the case

I really enjoyed listening to this amazing story and am so excited for the next book to be bought to life in audio, I highly recommend this audio and the fantastic story

Magical world, unique even for paranormal

I was super excited to start this book. It started off well. I am unsure why it took so long to get to her mother's house. It seemed like that should have been condensed. Her relationship seems to be a slow burn (kinda) with her Guardians. There are some super fun parts, especially as this is demi-Gods, which is not my normal read type. I loved the narrator at first, then during certain parts not so much, and I do not know why. Willing to continue into book 2, to see where this goes.

Not for me

I struggled to listen to this. No offence to narrator but your voice is nothing like any Scottish person I know. And research scotland better. No one would drive out west before they headed north etc.
Loved the magic parts of the story line, but did not enjoy due to incorrect parts of story and not Scottish narrator

unique slow burn RH

This is a unique spin on a tale of the old gods. A daughter of the mother of gods just as she comes into her powers and the Guardians sent to protect and bring her to her biological mother. Love the narrator and story, will definitely listen to the remainder of the series.

Can’t connect

This book has a very great storyline, however I don’t feel connected to the heroine. She seems selfish and immature. She destroy things just because she doesn’t liked an answer and she’s saying one thing and act another. It’s a little frustrating on her ups and down. Laurel Schroeder did a very great job in narrating the book.

Enjoyable PNR

I love a good paranormal romance, and Winter Princess was just that. Good. Nothing more and nothing less. The story had plenty of potential, the synopsis lays it out for you so I won’t repeat it. I loved the characters, at times however I wanted more..... more what you say? I’m not sure, more feelings maybe. I felt like it was missing a little something that I just could’t put my finger on. Basically, I had no problem taking a break from the story, when I was listening to it I was engaged and enjoying it, when I wasn’t listening, I wasn’t thinking about it, and I love a book that I never want to put down. I love wondering what will happen next, I love anticipating the characters every thought, and that wasn’t happening with Winter Princess. All that said, it was an enjoyable PNR, although I’m not sure yet if I will continue on to book 2. Watch this space. The narration from Laurel Schroeder was faultless, no complaints there.

Snore fest

I could not get into this book. I don't know if it's the way it's narrated or if it's the story line. It's meant to be a modern day text but the narrator makes it sound like it's written in the middle ages. The narrator has a nice enough voice and can do an enjoyable Scottish accent, but all other sentences are rushed and lack emotion. There is one very under whelming romance scene. I'm listening to the next in the series but I'm already not enjoying it.
