Great story

I didn’t know what I was getting when I purchased this book. I purchased because of Laurel Schroeder narration so I missed the part of it being a revered harem. I am usually not a fan of sex scenes or multiple partners. That being said it was so tastefully done and well written as well as being such an intricate part of the story that I didn’t mind. Winter Princess has a great story like with well developed characters the only thing I didn’t like was that it ended. I will picking up the next book in the series right away.

Different and entertaining read

I really enjoyed this story. It was completely different from what I was expecting, different from anything I’ve read before, and I loved it! It’s full of magic and wonder that kept me entertained from beginning to end. I can’t wait for book 2.
Laurel Schroeder is one of my favorite narrators, and the reason I listened to this book. That said, I was completely amazed by her performance. Her narration is ALWAYS fabulous, but this time she has outdone herself. Her character voices and accents were outstanding and absolutely brought this story to life!

Interesting story

I was very intrigued with the story line. I love stories where a characters powers are still developing as something new can always pop up. Nothing is impossible. I thought the characters were well developed. There are a lot of main characters so I am still looking forward to learning more about them but that is to be expected. Book 2 should hopefully clear up some of the unknowns.

Narration was good- Laurel has a beautiful voice and a great accent for this book.

Different for me

Every once in a while, I like to venture out of my comfort zone and listen to a book that is not my usual genres of choice. This one popped up at just the right time, I needed a break and Skye MacKinnon gave it to me! Wynter is a demigod that has reached the age where her magic would come into full force. Her mother has sent for her to come to the realm and to escort her are 4 guardians. I could not help but see these men as male muses and with that I kept it in my head as a Greek God type of story, almost cartoonish at times. With the adventure that Wyn has set out on, the protection of these four men and the danger she was up against, the book was full of mystery, intrigue and passion. MacKinnon is very creative with her imagery, and I loved how completely awkward Wynter is, which for me made her a more relatable character. The book is a nice change of pace.

This story has so much going on that it needs an incredibly talented narrator. Laurel Schroeder is the perfect fit, with her many distinguishable voices, the convincing accents and her wonderful story telling ability. I loved her performance!

Love the story, but not so much the narrator 😢

I loved the Daughter of Winter series by Skye MacKinnon! Can't wait to read more in the series and catch up on her others series, especially on audiobook. I love the dynamics with the guys and Wyn as a main character. She has to grow up pretty fast, overcome her issues with her powers, and help keep her and her guys safe until they can reach her mother. Definitely my favorites are Crispin and Arc!! I can't wait to read more of the series (I had started the serials but got sidetracked so now I am catching up haha).

I think the problem I had with the narrator is that she was fine when doing the guys, but I couldn't stand about 50% of the time when she was playing Wyn. The breathing/lisp that sounded forced at times bugged me. It wasn't enough to stop me from listening but I didn't get the feeling like I do with some audiobooks with dying to keep listening/sneaking some time in during work breaks.

Fantastic listen!

Loved the characters and the story, I was hooked from start to finish following Wyn and her guys as she learns about herself. Amazing narrator, she really brought the story to life by giving the characters distinct personalities through use of tone and accents for each character. I received a free review copy of this audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

It’s a fantastic 5 star book and love

Loved loved this listen. The author took an everyday lady and gave her powers . The authors imagination was surreal . The story is hot . With lots of petting and flirting.
Wyn thought she was an ordinary lady living with human parents. Little did she know she was Demi god . On her birthday after she reached a certain age her gifts were developed. One day her gifts were triggered off my her thoughts destroyed her home.
All of a sudden she had 4 guardians. Yes all were male . Frost , Storm , Crispen and Arc
Lots of events happened to her, first there were others out to get her. And Wyn had to learn to control her gifts .
After one incident 3 of her 4 guardians surrendered her and started to touch her . She looked around for the missing guardian. It was Crispen. Wyn wanted him to touch her .
The narrator was fantastic. She knew how to do the story . Knew where the part of the story needed a certain pitch .
Grab it and learn who is after her. Does Wyn meet her mother. And who of the 4/ends up with her or is it all 4

Loved it!

This was the first book I've read/listened to by Skye MacKinnon and I absolutely loved it! Winter is so realistic. She is not perfect, but tries to do the right things. Ms. MacKinnon's writing makes you think that you're right there with Winter, seeing and feeling everything that she does. Laurel Schroeder did a wonderful job with the narration. She has a beautiful voice and you could tell the characters apart. Can't wait for the next book!

Awesome book!!

This author has a wonderful imagination. Wyn has been sent to live in human world until her mother summons her. Four guardians are sent to bring her home to her world of magic and intrigue. Alone the way she learns to use her powers. I don’t want to give away the end so I will just say it’s a must read!!
The narrator does an awesome job with the characters.

Winter Princes

Enjoyable storyline, even if at times I found Wyn to be either childish or down right annoying.
Her guardians certainly kept me entertained that's for sure, and the narrative was fantastic.

A fabulous story beautifully brought to life

I read this story when it was first published and when I saw it was on audio I just had to get it as I enjoyed the story so much. I have listened to other stories narrated by Laurel Schroeder so I was intrigued as to what she would sound like narrating this story and let me tell you I was NOT disappointed!!!

The narrator really captures the essence of Wyn, she really bought all the characters to life and did justice to the exciting story being read, I love audio books but a few of my favourite books I bought on audio and was disappointed with the narrator but I am so glad this was not the case

I really enjoyed listening to this amazing story and am so excited for the next book to be bought to life in audio, I highly recommend this audio and the fantastic story

Snore fest

I could not get into this book. I don't know if it's the way it's narrated or if it's the story line. It's meant to be a modern day text but the narrator makes it sound like it's written in the middle ages. The narrator has a nice enough voice and can do an enjoyable Scottish accent, but all other sentences are rushed and lack emotion. There is one very under whelming romance scene. I'm listening to the next in the series but I'm already not enjoying it.
