Before world war two could reach its conclusion, the world suffered what could only be defined as a cataclysm.

Legend has it that an experiment failed. Catastrophically so. And when it failed, the center of the United States, from the Sierra Nevada to the Mississippi river became "The Waste", where everything changed.

Except it didn't only happen in North America. In fact, it happened all around the world.

Few places were spared, though only a handful experienced it as deeply as the United States didIn The Wastes of the world, every fantasy creature, fairy tale demon, or mythological monster exists. From Orcs to Neriads, Ogres, Trolls, Wraiths, Elves, Harpies, and even Beastmen. They all exist, and all despise humankind.

For North America, in the shattered bones of the country, the west and east coasts new governments have rose, then fell.

Vince has become the master of a major portion of the Wastes of North America. Responsible for everything and everyone inside his boundaries. There is little that doesn’t fall under his purview. Except everything is changing even as fast as he tries to catch up.

The end war with deities near and far has become the focus of his life.

Everything will change or end here and now.

For him, Yosemite, Legion, and all of his world.

Love this series. I've listened to to 1 - 4 so many times, then finally saw that 5 and 6 was out.

awesome

I love the stories, but I’m not a fan of Stephanie narrating. Some of her voices are ok, but her natural voice is a little screechy. Other than that, this book felt a little more rushed than the others, but still an ok addition.

Wish there was a different narrator…

the story is typical of the world, but Stephanie destroyed the enjoyment of the book. why is Melody Russian, Miles British, Vince and Felix American? Why are voices inconsistent? Lines delivered like she didn't read the book ahead of time and acknowledge the character traits? Felix isn't a nervous mess on the outside, Vince is supposed to be calm and collected until battle. My last review of book 5 said similar but nothing improved.

The story is alright. It's the normal for Vince's story to be all over the place, but the direction was lack luster. Wandering the world and wandering the story are 2 different things. I think I'll return this one. Sad thing, because after how SSOSH ended I was looking forward to how this one ended as well. Instead I was disappointed.

The narrator ruined it...

Love this series and the Runnerverse and while Stephanie is great, for me, personally, the change in narration and character voices in the last two books takes away from my enjoyment of the performance.

Good but not Great

I'm not going to lie to. I was a fan of yours. I as fan of yours. I've read all but 1 series you put out for years. Wild waste was my introduction to you when you dropped Monster Mercy. I loved your writing style and stories and how you kept track of this multiverse of yours but that was about 3 years ago. I don't know what happened, maybe it was during the introduction to you saying there was going to be a book 4-6 of WW, ssosh, and maybe ff. But I first saw this change right after the last book of RoR or Cultivating Chaos 3. It went from these compelling stories with plot driven focus to these adolescent tells that's mostly just padded with juvenile humor, sex, and pointless rambling. I don't know if you remember but when I personally asked you why your writing style changed to this you gave me a answer I couldn't reply to because I don't know how to reply to something like that but you said "that's how me and my wife talk to each other". I'd this is so, I still don't know how to respond to something like that without it being some personal attack on you. But nonetheless.

This book isn't good. The last 3 books weren't good. The reason I got them and finished was because of 2 things. 1. It was my introduction to you and the genre itself (outside of Anime). 2. I genuinely love your work and want to support you. But now that I'm done I can sadly say this is it for me. The last few books I read including 3 previous 3 in this title. 3,4 of cultivating Chaos, 4 of ssosh, and save state hero (biggest Deus ex machia, I can't believe you went this route after hyping up the whole "avengers " thing for years). I'm done. As a story this book is enjoyable but only if you turn off your brain and can ignore all of the pointless banter that eventually turn into what a 15 year old will think is flirting. The plot goes no where before jumping miles to slow down and continuing when it feels like the author is reminded of something. Which I honestly believe happened. During the writing of book 4 on patreon I commented that why don't Vince realize he's a god because Felix knows and spoke it out loud when he was on comms during the time Vince walked in that portal and fought with Legion. And the very next chapter you started writing Vince going on a tangent about him being a God and what he can and can't do. I'm not saying I'm responsible for the direction of this story (kinda my ego is big) but I didn't like it. More like I dont like how you've written it and it also seems like you completely rewrote everybody's personality to be the worst type of personality you get from harem authors who are more invested in in writing crap for a buck than building something. If you erased the title and renaned6every character in this book I would genuinely believe this was written by 1 if the farm authors. And it doesn't help that every single person is written the exact same way in the same book titles and editions named earlier.

To return to what I was saying earlier. You're writing has changed drastically and for the worst if I'm being honest and you lost me as a reader. This is not to discourage anyone else from enjoying these books but this is something I had to say as I depart. Goodbye
