Publisher's summary

Mathew Kalling knows better than to get involved with a party girl. You can't be charged with running an oil empire and still think a wild woman is a safe bet. But once he's had a taste, he just can't seem to stay away.

Try to sweep Jessica Thorne off her feet and she'll head for the hills. Nothing sends her running faster than grand gestures and fairy-tale promises. But when her back is against the wall will she finally take the risk and let love whisk her away?

Narrator

Jessica was not well written personality wise. She was way too dramatically sprung out. Robin makes every female have a high pitched voice which makes them seem aloof & plain old stupid.
Stop letting Robin use these voices!

I loved these characters.

Stewart stepped out of the Barrington world and gave voice to characters that were all her own.  Wild Eyes comes out swinging with a couple of the most frustrating characters I have ever met. Matthew can be as cool as a cucumber, but as ornery as a bull. He's all heart. He just chooses not to spread it around. Jessica is a firecracker who is not afraid to let her feelings show.  Their approach may be different, but beneath their differences resides similarities that could make them perfect for each other.  I loved these characters.  Attraction was a fierce battle that tempts you to lend your emotions to them. Stewart puts her heart on full display and invites readers to take a peek inside.  Having enjoyed the story, I was a tad disappointed in the audible narration. I felt it took away from a captivating romance.

The h is a horrific beating for 90% of this book!

Overall opinion:
The h is beyond insane throughout the book.
Example: I might go to jail but I don't want anyone to help me attitude.

Example: I will put myself into a bad situation just to see if I can walk away.

Example: If you wanted to marry me, I would run away... a few minutes later - never leave me.

I gave this a 2-star rating because the h and, at times, the H, would whine, moan, complain in their heads after every statement or question. I skipped forward at least 35 - 40% of the book and missed nothing.

Brief Summary: No need to expand on the author's summary.

Narrator(s) OK. At times, somewhat annoying

Descriptive Sex: some

OW/OM Drama: yes

Sex with OW/OM: no

Narrator

I listen to audio books daily and have come to realize that Robin Rowan might be the worse narrator ever. He does not have enough vocal range. Most of the women sound like silly little girls and most every man sounds like the same man having a conversation with himself. From now on, I will avoid all books narrated by Robin.

Terrible Narration

Heroine was silly and cringe worthy! This was made worse by horrible narration. Kept listening hoping story would get better.
