Life threw me a curveball. An adorable eight-pound, four-ounce curveball with her mother’s eyes and my dark hair. I’d like to think my single-dad game is strong, but honestly? I’ve been struggling a little. When a beautiful young woman moves in next door and offers to give me a hand, I jump at the chance to hire her as a nanny. Jessa is amazing with my daughter. She’s also patient, kind, and way too pretty.

Story
The first time I met Hudson Rothschild was at a wedding. I’d received an unexpected invitation to one of the swankiest venues in the city. Hudson was a groomsman and quite possibly the most gorgeous man I’d ever laid eyes on. He asked me to dance, and our chemistry was off the charts. I knew it wasn’t a good idea to get involved with him, considering the wedding I was at. But our connection was intense, and I was having a great time. Though the fun came to a screeching halt when Hudson figured out I wasn’t who I’d said I was.

At 17, I left Isaac Donoghue behind to become a professional ballerina. When I return home to dance in the Nutcracker, I never expect to run into him. Let alone on my first day in town. I can’t help but admire him in a crisp suit with his toned soccer body, chiseled jaw line, and all too familiar piercing green eyes. I thought nothing could surprise me more. Until his five year old daughter runs out of the ballet studio. I’m only in town for a month. I shouldn’t get involved with anyone, especially the ex I’ve been pining after for years.

I’d like to preface this by saying it was never my intention to ever get involved in a workplace romance, let alone get involved with the most surly, agitating, and pompous man I’ve ever met who just so happens to be my new friend’s brother. Hollywood taught me everything I know about relationships - except how to be in one. As an actor, I became an expert at faking it. Faking that I wasn't affected by my childhood. Faking that I was okay. Faking that I knew how to save the day, the girl, the whole damn world. But I've always known the truth - I’m no one's hero. Until I’m forced to move back to Sugarloaf for six months, and Brenna Allen offers me a chance to prove otherwise. She’s everything I never knew I wanted, but can't have. Her broken heart, perfect face, and adorable children turn my world upside down.

Publisher's Summary
Sweet with Heat: Seaside Summers features a group of fun, flirty, and emotional friends who gather each summer at their Cape Cod cottages. They're sassy, flawed, and so easy to relate to, you'll be begging to enter their circle of friends!
Whispers at Seaside by Addison Cole is the sweet edition of The New York Times best-selling author Melissa Foster's steamy romance novel, Seaside Whispers. The story conveys all of the passion you expect between two people in love, without any explicit scenes or harsh language.
Having a mad crush on her boss’s son, Matt Lacroux - an intriguing mix of proper gentleman and flirtatious bad boy - is probably not the smartest idea for single mother Mira Savage. Especially when the company and her job, is already on shaky ground. But as a Princeton professor, Matt’s life is hours away from Mira’s home on Cape Cod, keeping him safely in the fantasy-only zone. And as a single mother to six-year-old Hagen, with a floundering company to save, fantasies are all she has time for.
With hopes of becoming dean off the table, and too many months of longing for a woman who lived too far away to pursue, Matt’s publishing contract couldn’t have come at a better time. He heads home to Cape Cod on a brief sabbatical, intent on starting his book and finally getting his arms around sweet, beautiful Mira.
A surprise encounter leads to midnight confessions. The more time Matt and Mira spend together, the deeper their relationship grows, and the love and attention Matt showers on Hagen is more than she has ever dreamed of. But Matt’s sabbatical is only temporary, and Mira’s not saving his father’s company, so she can leave it behind. Will their whispers of love be enough for one of them to change their life forever?

Whispers at Seaside
Matt Lacroux is home at Seaside for the summer having taken a sabbatical from his teaching position at Princeton. While working on a book deal, Matt is trying to figure out the next steps in his life since it seems like his aspirations of becoming a dean at his college aren't going to pan out any time soon. But being back at Seaside, he gets to reconnect with single-mom Mira whom he met at his brother's engagement party the previous year. They've kept in touch over the months, and now with Matt back for the summer he's ready to see if there can be something more between them.
Mira Savage is used to devoting all her time to working and raising her young son. No one has garnered much more attention from her except Matt Lacroux. Despite being attracted to him from the moment they met, there was always the issue of distance between them. Now that he's in Seaside for a while, Mira must actually face her attraction for him, and acknowledge that it's ok for her to have a life for herself, especially considering Matt is also wonderful to her son. But what will happen when Matt's time on the Cape comes to a close?
I thought that Andi Arndt and Sebastian York did great with the narration. They are both narrators whose names pop up quite frequently in my audiobooks. They both bring a wonderful array of inflection and tone distinctions that I love when listening to a book.
For the story, I really enjoyed getting a view of the single mother in Mira. It's true that it's never easy raising a child, let along raising a child on one's own, and I felt like Mira was a good representation of a woman who has had to do this, but with the idea that it's just something she had to do because there was no other option, and she wasn't going to dwell on the fact that she's single, Mira is out to get her work done and love her son and raise him to the best of her ability. She hasn't gone about it completely along, which obviously helps, she has a good support system in her best friend Sabrina and her two brothers. I wish we could have gotten more interactions between Mira and her brothers honestly.
For Matt, he's kind of at a crossroads in his life. He loves his job and what he does, but it's not fulfilling him as much as it used to. He's seeing his brothers and sister find their significant others and form extended families. I liked seeing kind of this natural progression in Matt's life. Just the decision of stopping and thinking about what he wants especially after already having seemingly established his goals and wants in life. I like the idea that it's ever-changing. It's not something decided definitively and that's it. But I did feel like we didn't get to see that struggle enough. Honestly, he's in Seaside and from the beginning it's clear he's going to stay in Seaside. I didn't feel the true conflict of what he was facing and I kinda wanted to feel that a little more.
Whispers at Seaside closes another chapter of the series as a whole. Meaning we've tackled the entire Lacroux family, now we're off to another. I'm assuming Mira's brothers will get a story along with Janna (featured in Embraced at Seaside with Hunter Lacroux)'s brothers. Either way, I continue to love the family ties and bonds forms and seeing them interweave with one another.

The connection these two have is amazing!
Matt and Mira together are undeniable. Even just Matt and Hagan alone calls question to anyone denying the connections! The connection here is huge. While, yes, the fact that Mira is the employee of Matt's dad, that connection was not intentional! The connection these two have is amazing! I enjoyed this story and always look forward to Addison's stories!

Perfect Beach Time Listen
Another Addison Cole (Melissa Foster) LOVE story.
The love between Mira (her adorable son Hagan) and Matt is one that I am sure all single mother's dream about.
Pick up this great read. Throw on your favorite bathing suit. Spend the afternoon at the pool or beach reading.
If you don't have the time to "read" this book download the audiobook and take a listen! The narrator made this book come to LIFE! You will love every single moment of this audiobook. Great Book!
Matt Lacroux, a professor at Princeton and Mira Savage, a single mother who works for Matt’s dad at his hardware store met a year earlier and had become friends. They hung out together when he was in town with her son Hagen and texted occasionally when he was in Princeton. Matt did want more with Mira but was too far away to make it work. Who knew a broken shower head and a Friday night of eating amazing desserts, a ghost tour, dancing and watching the sunrise would finally bring these two together. I really enjoyed watching Matt and Mira and how he was always making sure both Mira and her son Hagen were included in what plans were made and making sure he made time for both of them. Matt is definitely my kind of guy, a gentleman but a bad boy as well. As always we get to check in with our Seaside friends and see what everyone is up to. The way this ended with everyone and Theresa’s ‘prank’, priceless! I listened to this as an audiobook which was narrated by Andi Arndt and Sebastian York. I really enjoy listening to different narrators and these two were seamless in their narration. I listened to this when I was out and about and totally got lost in the story. Their voices just seemed to flow effortlessly. These two did a beyond great job with their story telling on this book for Addison Cole.

I Loved It!
I so loved this book. Matt is a sexy professor and writer with the muscles and glasses to show it. He is also so sweet, caring, and protective. Mira is the smart, pretty, hard working single mother, that works in Matt's father's hardware store. Then, there is Hagen, Mira's most adorable, and smart little boy, who is now one of the guys. This is the most wonderful story of the three of them coming together. A family? Then, there are the Seaside Girls that always makes these books so fun to read. This book is so sweet, still with a little heat, and laughter. I liked this book so much, that after reading it, I bought the audiobook, and experienced it again, this time through the voices of Andi Arndt and Sebastian York, two outstanding narrators. I very highly recommend this book, whether you read it or listen to it.

Enjoyed it
Mira lives in the seaside with her inquisitive young son and works for Matts father's hardware store. Matt lives in Jersey as a professor and is back at seaside for a sabbatical while he gets come writing done. But if he has to be honest with himself its to also see if there is anything between him and the lovely Mira. As things form it become clear very soon his sabbatical will end and decisions between their relationship have to be made.
This is a reread for me if you can call it that, I actually got a chance to listen to this book as an audio book. I feel like it really enhances the reading experience and I found it to be more enjoyable. Sometime I find myself skimming over books from time to time and not notice and I was able to focus more on the little details because it was being read to me this time around. I appreciate that there was not one but two narrators to this book and think that Andi Arndt and Sebastian York did a great job. I loved getting a voice behind the characters and it make it all the more interesting to listen to. If you find you self quite busy or just want to relax your eyes for a bit from reading this is a great way to go.
Naturally I loved this book I've been following along with this series and it was pretty great getting to know these characters. Even though I loved seeing that relationship between Matt and Mira, it was sweeter seeing Hagan and Matt working together. It was cute how he didn't treat Hagan like a child but like he would to as an adult. I loved how Hagan always had a question for everything and everyone was so patient to make sure not to give quick answers but explain things in detail to him because it was what the child needed. I also loved that he didn't fade in the background like many others books I've read where the children seem to disappear. I thought it was interesting getting to know more about Matt and his hero complex he seemed to have. As always this author knows how to make interesting and unique love stories with just the right amount of steam ( without getting too much into details). If you love a good contemporary romance I'd suggest you check this book out. If you read this book trust me you will be hooked till the very end. Overall a great story I really enjoyed it!

Loved Whispers at Seaside Audiobook
Just when you think it can't get any better Addison Cole’s book excels. I fell in love with Matt Lacroux immediately. He is a dream come true: smart, sexy and sensitive. Mira is a single mom who works in Matt's dad's hardware store. Mira’s son Hagen is so much like Matt. He is super smart and needs to be challenged. The relationship that develops throughout is a pleasure to read. Mira’s son Hagen plays an important role that bonds Matt’s and Mira’s hearts. Follow them along in this beautiful story. The narration by Andi Arndt & Sebastian York is spot on and truly contributes to the listening experience. I loved the alternating voices. Ten stars!

Sweet read ideal for the summer
Whispers at Seaside is a sweet addition to the already swoon-worthy Seaside Summers series.
Matt Lacroux is home for the summer, with a promotion off the table and a publishing contract in the works, Seaside is the ideal place for him to relax and unwind. He is a true gentleman, sweet and smart and the chemistry formed between him and Mira Savage is adorable.
Mira is a single mother who is employed by Matt's father, she is caring, cautious and incredibly smart with ambitions and aspirations she is just waiting to achieve. With the hardware store struggling, she is determined not to get too caught up in the crush that is 'Matt'.
The more time Matt and Mira spend together, the stronger their bond grows and the more he becomes a fixture in her and Hagen's life. The way Matt is with Mira's son is endearing, always taking the time to include him, appreciate him whilst also educating him.
This is by far one of my favourite books in Cole's series and I would recommend to anyone who would like a sweet treat to read over the summer.
The narration is on point and I love the enthusiasm and tone that they set from the onset.

All the happy feels.....
This audio book gave me all the happy feels.
Yes there are moments where you feel sad but the majority of this audio book made me smile.
I loved it from start to finish. I have always been a fan of single parent romance and this was no exception.
The relationship and connection between Matt and Mira is so strong from the very start and the way Matt is with Hagen has you falling in love with him all over again. Matt loves his family and it shows and being back home makes him question what he wants to do with his life and now that he has Mira and Hagen it makes him question it more. The story builds around Matt and Mira falling in love and the friendship/father & son relationship between Matt and Hagen. By the end of the book you want that relationship, you want someone to love you as much as Matt loves Mira and Hagen.
Also more from the Seaside gang. Bella and Theresa's pranking, the seaside girls, their children and how can we forget their hunky men who we all love.
Addison does it again and I cannot wait for more.
Highly recommended author and if you have never read/listened to any of her books then you are in for a treat.

Another sweet tale
This is another sweet book by Addison.
When you work in a small, independent hardware shop in a small town, falling in love with the bosses son is perhaps not the best idea, yet this is exactly what Mira does. Unfortunately Matt lives too far away and works too much for her to do anything but admire from afar. Relationships aren't straight forward for Mira, as she comes as a package with her 6 year old son, Hagen.
Matt is a Princetown professor, who does not get home as often as he would like. The opportunity to write a book, offers him the perfect opportunity to return home to the Cape on a sabbatical and reconnect with family and the beautiful Mira. A unexpected encounter leads to a deepening relationship, but can they get past their professional lives to enjoy their personal one long enough to see where it can go?
Addison writes about the blossoming relationship with the added complication of a young child very well, and beautifully. There is a lot of emotion in the pages and once started, it's a real struggle to leave.
I loved every minute of this audiobook. There are two narrators which I prefer, rather than the one voice doing all the parts, and the voices work well together.
I have been listening to audio books for about a year now, and I love them. I can now enjoy retreating to my favourite places while driving or while I am doing paper work, listening through headphones. If you haven't tried them, I recommend them :)

Who couldn't fall in love with Matt and Hagen
Who couldn’t fall in love with Matt and Hagen. Mira and Matt have been flirting with each other for a long time. They met at his brothers wedding and kept in touch. Now Matt is back on the Cape for 3 months or so he thought. Once he gets to know Mira better he realises that he couldn’t go back. Add in Mira’s adorable son Hagen and he is definitely isn’t leaving. Nice to see the original seaside ladies make an appearance and still up to mischief. This was one of my favourite audio books well worth a listen to
