Melissa Foster has hit the jackpot with Tempest and Nash. Tempest is looking for something different with her business and life. She seems restless in Peaceful Harbor so moves to Pleasant Hill where she rents a room from Nash Morgan. Nash is a single father with a heart for only his son Phillip. Melissa has created such an indescribable relationship between Nash and Phillip that the feelings jump into your heart. The kind and unique way that Tempest is woven into their lives is so beautiful. BJ Harrison adds laugh out loud moments as he narrates this 10 star Braden story! While he always keeps me riveted to the story, I especially loved his portrayal of Phillip. He never fails to keep me intrigued with his voice.

I have been listening to Melissa’s audio books after reading the print version when they were first released. I loved it as much or more this time!

Prior to the release of this book, I had looked forward to Tempe’s story after getting to know her in the previous Peaceful Harbor books. Nash and his son Phillip are super sweet, but very used to being on their own. Tempe has moved away from home and needs a quiet place to work on her music and growing her business. Nash has a room for rent and it turns out to be a great fit for Tempe. Not only the room, but the bond with Nash and Phillip as well. Nash and Tempe have so much in common including their love of music and love of family. This is yet another well-written, engaging book by Melissa Foster!

Wow. I knew Tempest's story would be good. Being a Braden, she is secure and strong. Nash is a single dad who needs a partner who is secure and strong. These two are a great pair. Nash is supportive of her goals, and Tempe loosens up his tight strings. I loved how quickly she fell in love with Flip. She just wants him to be a normal child; go to preschool, socialize with kids his own age and have fun. And somehow she manages to get Nash onboard with all of it. You see Flip start to make friends and become more involved. Which then makes Nash want to become more involved in art and his previous life.

This is another BJ Harrison narration and he continues to portray the Bradens as strong, independent men and women.

This book had me from the time the characters met and Tempest misunderstood and thought that Nash was calling his son, Phillip, Flip. He doesn't correct her and she goes around introducing him as Flip. It was just hilarious that Nash just let's her keep doing it!
I loved that Tempe is able to help Nash see that his son is missing out on some vital developmentally important experiences, but does it in a helpful and non-threatening way. Not only is she able to help him with that aspect of their lives, but she is able to let Nash realize that it is okay for him to take time to work on his art instead of spending every minute with his son. Nash's devotion to Phillip is heartwarming, but his opening his life to other things is just as important to the character.
Tempe's devotion to helping the father and son, as well as those she touches with her music therapy makes it impossible to not fall in love with the giving woman that she is. Melissa Foster has just written incredible characters in this book. The journey she takes Nash on toward healing his inner demons is one I was happy to go along on.
The narration by B.J. Harrison was impeccable, as always. The voice for Phillip was extremely well done and produced him in my mind's eye. This book was just a grand experience!
