Virtual voice trash

The story is medium level complexity. Kinda dragged out in areas and the narration was garbage so it made it very obvious

Had Potential

OK, I’m just going to start this review and say that I had read all of the other reviews and I went into this with an open mind.

The first third of the book was actually not bad. I was invested in the characters. Some of the events that took place, that others are complaining about, didn’t bother me… dark romance.. I felt that the author did give a pretty good feeling of something else was going on behind the scenes.

But then that was it. After the first third, things went downhill fast. This is where it really starts reading like a pay per chapter book. Things started happening that didn’t really make sense, almost like they were happening just to happen. Nonsense filler.

Even a couple of the main storylines such as the kidnapping and the big reveal, was a letdown. I ended up skipping so many chapters. It was almost a DNF for me. The only thing that made me finish was the fact I enjoyed the first third of the book.

This really did have potential and I would have loved to see some better character development… but the over the top ridiculous things that happened was just unbelievable in a not good way. This is kind of a classic trait of paid to read by the chapter books.

The spice in the first part of the book was decent. Keep in mind I’m a spice girly, but I found myself skipping spice scenes. They just got redundant. Whole chapters were dedicated to one specific thing happening. It was weird. The actual typing out of ‘ahhh’, ‘oooooh’ and ‘mmmm’ sounds were really not necessary and it’s especially aggravating if you’re listening to the book.

As I said, I started skipping a lot of the ending chapters just to get to the epilogue. And even that was ugh. It was completely unsatisfying and a bit ridiculous.

I’m leaving two stars because I did enjoy the first part of the book and I got it for free.

I would love to see this story reworked. But as it is now, complete letdown.

AWFUL NARRATION

Will never listen to another AI narrator. Not sure if the book was good as the male lead had a more feminine voice than the female lead. Kind of hard to believe an alpha with that high pitched only wish I could return it. Get a real narrator or stick to books.

Really bad everything!

I did not like this one, but couldn't stop listening. I kept waiting for it to get better by finding out what the lead characters saw in each other. This just seemed to be a toxic relationship built on angry sex. Even after finding out about all the blackmail and throughout all the manipulation, it was just bad. I would be upset if I had to pay for this one. The thing is, I've listened to other stories written by this author, and I did like some of those, but she misses the mark with this one.

Terrible

The guy physically, emotionally and sexually abuses her the entire book. At one point he screws her while she’s actively dieing… this author is disturbed.
