good story

narrator good . plot complicated enough, characters pretty rounded, main character complicated but relatable professional . made me laugh out loud a few times .

Solid read

It was an overall good book. The story is pretty strong and it’s not easy to figure out mystery. I like the characters. I especially like that the lead is gay, which you don’t often find in this type of book. It is also just one facet of him. I really enjoyed the author’s previous book.

Great narrator!!

I was happy to know I was reading another Ben Packard story. I can’t wait for the next book as he left it as a cliffhanger… 

Not as good as the 1st book

I love the cast of characters and the writing style is excellent. A bit disappointed in the story line of this second book, it just didn't have the suspense or build-up as the 1st book. Also, I hate cliffhanger endings and this made me frustrated. I'm still looking forward to the next book though!

great Story

I like the story for the most part. It didn't quiet catch the magic of the original.

Love this Series!

Great characters, story line with twists and turns! Listen starting at book one or do standalone. Either way it’s worth it! Hope you like them as much as I do!

Keeps you guessing until the end!

I saw this title as I was browsing Target at the beginning of this week and the content and local author grabbed my attention. I knew I had a credit to use on my account and decided to see if it was available and it was. This was the quickest I have finished an audio book as I only listen while I am in the car with my commute one way only being 12 minutes. I couldn't stop listening! The author wrote this so well that it wasn't easy to figure out how it would end until the VERY end. I learned this was the author's second book, I will be going back and reading/listening to the first! I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys thrillers. I am anxious to hear if a possible third book will be released.

Enjoyed another Ben Packard story but....

Overall enjoyed and hope to see another Ben Packard story. However, did not care for the ending and if there isn't another book coming then it's an even worse ending. Wasn't as much "action" as the 1st story but still good.

Really enjoyed!!

This is the second book from this author, and I have enjoyed both. Really growing to like the cast of characters, especially the protagonist. Mystified why both books have a female narrator when we have a male protagonist? Not sure that was the best choice for these books. Already looking forward to the next one!

So-so and too much introspection

Hardly any action, suspense, intrigue or likability.

The first book drew the reader in with the personalities of the main character, the locals and the killers believable. This one just kind of rambled among wit too much introspection and discussion about Ben’s personal dilemmas with no forward movement. Clear set up for a third book which usually has the reader anxious for the sequel. I’m not.
