The David Gemmell Award-shortlisted author of Age of Iron returns with the final book in his West of West trilogy, in which a mismatched group of refugees must battle monsters, an unforgiving land and each other as they cross a continent to fulfil a prophecy.

Battling across the Shining Mountains, the questers discover a land more terrifying and filled with more dangerous creatures than they could ever have imagined - and they've fought thunder lizards. The tentatively allied Wootah and Calnians must survive monster attacks, flash floods and tornadoes to uncover the secret of The Meadows. And then comes the hard part. To save themselves and everybody else they will travel west of west, deeper into danger, and do all that they can to defeat a goddess who has already killed all the other gods.

Angus Watson delivers a well rounded adventure. Great characters with constant action and unexpected twists. Just enough humor and darkness with a touch of alchemy and mistisizum. Second series as good, if not better than the first.

Great fantasy adventure series, Wow

My taste may be a bit eclectic but this series was so unique, funny, interesting and well done. Thank you Angus Watson, Sean Barrett, and my cousin who recommended it, lol.

Loved this seriously fun series. Will listen again

when i began book 1 i actually put it down maybe 30% in, because not much was happeninng - then picked it back up, and the story really started to come together. the way the author has the characters grow and change can be slow and subtle sometimes, but so satisfying.

really satsifying conclusion

Kudos to Angus Watson for spinning this tale and intertwining both the Vikings and Natives of North American. I really enjoyed this story and the way it was written.

Very entertaining!

What a fabulous story teller, witty, intelligent and he’s got a grasp on the mystical, historical and the relationship between the two.

Is he the best writer of the modern age?

Firstly, the narrator was excellent. The story was hilarious. Many laugh out loud moments. Equally heartwarming and heart-rending. Never a dull moment throughout the series. Stumbled on this series after reading Age of Iron and was instantly hooked. Wish there was a book 4 though or that the ending was a little more complete, because after waiting for the culmination over the length of 3 books everything wrapped up at warp speed in about 20 minutes.

I wasn't ready for it to end!

I really love Angus Watson's fun spin on "historical" fiction in which he transports us to an old place and time. He then throws a wild fantasy at us using what he knows about the place and time that is more fun to experience, for me, than almost any other author out there. Although all together different in delivery and scope I put these books right up there with Sandersons Stormlight series, the Warded Man, and all of my other favorite series that take me to a new exciting reality. Great series here and a great ending as well!

One of the best listens around

Angus Watson has now delivered two solid trilogies with a consistent level of plausible perile, humor, gore and unflinching yet cringe worthy romance.
One of my favorite authors.
Watson's historical perspective and CLEAR experience with heroic doses of halucinagenic drugs are invaluable and his expanded imagination is on full display in Where Gods Fear To Go. In short, this man has seen some shit and he writes creatively because of it though his work is stiil loosely based and heavily reliant on what may have been real people in a real time. The James S A Corey of fantasy ladies and gentlemen.
Sean Barret delivers another genre defining entry in this saga as well. He and Watson have chemistry that is rare to see in any genre let alone Fantasy. (Though his voice will always be tied to Doug Sealskinner for me.)

And Watson sticks the landing.

I thought the ending was a little disappointing. After a long journey spanning 3 books, I thought the last fight would be a bit more epic. I also wished the author spent some time on their lives after the meadows. Putting aside my wishes, I loved this book and enjoyed everything that was revealed. Sean's performance was great as usual.

Journey was great, ending just okay
