I didn’t love it

The title of this book should have been, The Most Selfish Man To Ever Live. I didn’t realize this was a book I had already read when I purchased it, the added info isn’t worth $21. I automatically buy any John Marrs books because generally I love them. This one was really hard to get through. Its main focus was on the husband that completely abandoned his family to travel the world then start a new family. I did enjoy the wife’s story about perseverance.

The depth of the story

I was not sure about halfway into this book but it sure pulled through as a winner. Such depth and emotion and crazy as well. Very good. 2/3 for JM

So depressing!

I wanted it to end, because it was so depressing. Not a thriller or suspense!
Great narrator!

Love this author!

Another excellent book! Highly recommended because it will keep you guessing - I plan to read all of his books

What a twisted man and strong woman!

It started with a wonderful marriage and then he's gone! He wanders all over and thinks very little about the painful actions and what he has done to his family. A story about a man who allows his feelings to guide him to do unforgivable things and a woman who pulls herself up by her boot straps and makes a life for herself and her children. But she doesn't tell anyone about what she knows until the end of the book. The narrators were wonderful and I highly recommend this book.

Kept my interest, great story and twists

Didn’t take me long to finish this one, didn’t get bored or annoyed with any of the narrators. Great storyline.

It is soap opera like

Mysterious disappearance, murders, over the toplove with prostitute, And all the time we are watching a black and white characters, one is a saint, the other is devilish and it’s the latter’s tortures that author spends most time on as if one should care what a serial killer feels or regrets, oh and to add to soap opera state there are cancers 😂😂

Trigger Warning

Trigger Warning…child death in detail. I really like John Marrs books and know they can be messed up in the best of ways but giving specific details about the death of a child was too much for me.

Disappointing, poorly written

Not likely to read/listen to another John Marrs book after this one. Characters weren't believable. Instead of making the husband a truly evil character, the writer tried to use lame reasoning and cliches to almost justify his behavior. It made no sense. The bonus chapter wasn't a bonus.

Don’t waste your time.

Not enough plot. Too slow with no redeeming value at the end. There numerous books available that are better.
