Publisher's Summary

Welcome to Nocturne Falls, the town that celebrates Halloween 365 days a year.

Jayne Frost is a lot of things. Winter elf, Jack Frost's daughter, Santa Claus' niece, heir to the Winter Throne and now...private investigator. Sort of.

But none of that matters at the moment, because Jayne is headed back to the North Pole to visit her family, and leaving everyone’s favorite werewolf, Birdie Caruthers, to watch her cat, Spider.

With the heartfelt promise that all will be well, Birdie follows Jayne’s instructions to the letter. Unfortunately, that doesn’t stop Spider from getting into trouble. It takes the help of a gentlemen friend (and a few others) for Birdie to make things right again. But not before her love life takes a very interesting turn....

Birdie Finally Gets a Story

Birdie Caruthers is by far is probably my favorite character in Nocturne Falls and I think this short story was a perfect way to let her have a thread of the story. This story follows Birdie and the mishaps that happen when she is charged with babysitting Miss Frost's (from a Nocturne Falls Cozy Mystery series) cat Spider goes missing. This is probably my favorite of all the shorts though the shorts like the rest of the series installments are all fun easy listening. B.J. Harrison does a wonderful job as always with the characters. It was lovely to see Birdie find a romance of her own. Like the rest of Nocturne Falls these stories are light, predictable, flirty not feisty, and end with all smiles and no cliff hangers. If you enjoy the rest of the series and if Birdie makes you laugh this is an absolute much need to listen to, it will not disappoint.

Birdie's fright!

Losing a princess's cat is the last thing Birdie thought she would do especially after carefully reading the directions for taking care of Spider. Terrified that princess Jane will have a fit when she finds out that spiders missing, Birdie and Friends go out in search of him. Of course, they find out finding a black cat in the snow, which should be an easy task, can be a bit complicated.

This is an easy read and funny addition to the main series. If you get the audio book, Mr. Harrison sounds a bit different from the other person who is reading Spider, the cat, so don't expect that to sound quite the same. If you can get over that hump you'll be set.

Great story

These books never disapoint and this short story is no exception. I love Spider and Birdie and was glad to see them in a story. I am looking forward to seeing where her relationship goes and hope that she gets her happy ever after.

A Lovely Little Story

This is a lovely little story in the Nocturne Falls/Jayne Frost series. Birdie is as always a true bright light in the series and it was good to see her character take center stage. Like the character of Stanhill though, I think Birdie deserves a full story. The author keeps the story light and very feel good. If you need a short pick-me up kind of story this is it.

I was also very excited to hear B.J. Harrison versus Hollis McCarthy. I love Hollis and how she does Jayne’s characters but the main Nocturne Falls characters belong to B.J. Harrison and he didn’t disappoint.

When Birdie Babysat Spider

It was a great story but Birdie knew about Spider being able to talk. She was informed in Miss Frost Ices the Imp: A Nocturne Falls Mystery Jayne Frost, Book 2. This was just her first time hearing Spider speak.

Enjoyable and refreshing

I love this series and Ms Birdie is fantastic. This book was so much fun to listen to that I have listened to it over and over again! I can't wait for more stories including Ms Birdie. The only negative is that I wish the narrator for this book was the same as for the other books in this series. It would have made it even better.

Brilliant!

I loved this novella! It was fun getting Birdies pov. Birdie is an awesome character and I'm glad she's going to give Jack a chance! Loved the interactions with her and Spider as well!

I love Birdie

I love this side series to Nocturne Falls, all of our favourite characters make guest appearances.

Birdie is one of my favourite characters from the Nocturne Falls/Jane Frost series and its great for her to have her own book.

The narration is very easy listening.

I enjoyed this audio book. It is nice to see Birdie finding someone. It would be nice for another short story again later.
