Publisher's Summary

Anidyr Bycall is frozen in her past, regretting words never spoken to the woman she loves and the one impulsive act that cost her all her dreams. Running from the courts of public and academic opinion in Fairbanks, she has landed in Key West. The nights are hot but she is colder than the glaciers she once explored.

Tending bar by night, she spends her days immersed in the research of her only remaining passion in life: the ice fields of Alaska. But trends may be improving when news from home hints that those she harmed may have moved on, and she can at least recover the papers and books she left behind. The respect and affection she once saw in Eve Cambra's eyes is gone beyond recall.

When a few innocent questions raise Ani's doubts about what really happened three years ago, she realizes she may have a chance to clear her name and reclaim her career. But there's no data to suggest that Eve has thawed and that the fire they once shared can be rekindled.

Well researched, smart

I didn’t know Killmaker and I’m so happy to be hearing her story. Great writing, smart story with fascinating, unusual, and well developed characters. People you would like to know. Of course Abby Craden always gives an unbelievably , enjoyable narrative.

Loved this book

I am atrial to any book about Alaska, and this book was so accurate, describing parts of alaska just as they are. the story is excellent, and with the narration it was perfect.

Shallow undeveloped characters boring

If I met any of these characters in real life I would not find them the least bit compelling! This was a great book to go to sleep by because the characters in the story were so uninspiring. Never again!

Fabulous!

I loved this book! Intriguing characters and a page-turning plot makes this a book you can’t put down. Strong leading ladies make it even more enjoyable.

well thought out

Abby Craden killed it yet again with her performance. Karin Kallmaker wrote a very defined and well thought book which must have taken up much time to research.

I really could not wait to find out exactly what had happened and it was not anything I thought it was, which I loved!! Very inventive, well done! Karin also did a great job with her detail to all main characters in the book.

2.5/5

Promising premise, but underdeveloped plot and characters. The narrator Abby Craden, who I usually love, makes some odd voice choices that left me annoyed and uninterested. Also despite its title, if you are looking for steamy, this book isn't it.
