This author continues to surprise me. the storyline keeps you entertained and completely draws you in chapter by chapter. So much so that you never see the ending coming!

Really enjoyed this series but...

Is there anything you would change about this book?

It needed a really good shocking twist. Although it seemed to try, none of the surprising developments seemed all that surprising. Perhaps there was too much foreshadowing.

Would you be willing to try another book from Terry Schott? Why or why not?

I would read another book by this author but I think I'm done with this series.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

If this series were a movie...definitely. It's a neat premise and it would be interesting to see how it would play out on the big screen.

love it

So this is one of those authors that I don't like and yet I love him. So it is not anything wrong with the writing and Luke is a great narrator. Reason I don't like him is I get so into the characters and he hurts them. Not as much in this book but in book I definitely took some breaks not quite ready for what might happen.

Unique and keeps you thinking

Adept handling of many new age ideas and questions, in a story that is actually completely neutral to any belief. It is easily fantasy, but offers a place to stretch one's thoughts about many things that people wonder about. It's all put in a series of computer simulations asking a number of real questions, first can experience in a game advance our real life skills, and a sort of spiritual question being, if we can find magic in virtual reality, can we bring it to our real life. It does this without losing the reality of life always balancing an inherent need for both good and bad outcomes, never knowing for sure what an outcome will be, or what might be really going on beyond what we can fathom from our perspective. There's an opportunity here to be entertained and step outside one's decided reality, and question the big picture.

officially my second favorite sci fantasy series.

each new book in the series is better than the last. as complicated as the structure of the story gets, he does a good job of keeping everything in front of the reader. that being said, I think I'll be reading the whole series over from the beginning after I've finished the last book.

The story keeps getting better and better

The story continues on and tied up a lot of the loose ends. Near the half way point, it becomes a bit predictable; then hits you in the chest with a 2x4. This series has shapped up to be my all time favorite.

Luke Daniels

I started the series because of Luke Daniels he is by far my favorite narrator . I will give any book a shot if he is narrating. And he delivered another great performance. So far I’m loving the series…. Thank you Luke for introducing me to many authors I have now come to love… 70+ book in my audible are narrated by you if I need to find something new I just search Luke Daniels!!!!!

Better the Devil you know...

Having even intrigued by the concepts and delighted and drawn to some of the characters in the earlier books, especially in book three, this reader was rather disappointed with the progress through Virtual Prophet which, jumped frenetically between locations seemed to impart an author's desperation to resolve many of the twists earlier introduced rather than a coherent resolution. It remained a fun book to hear but no longer one which held a true integrity. However, the final paragraphs appear to hold out the hope not only of there being more to come but also that there had been an overall arc which would give further depth to this already multi layered story.

As before, The performance by Luke Daniels is excellent with the large cast of protagonists individually voiced.
Worth reading if you have come this far, if only to find some of the answers.

Story is getting overly complex

Great performance from Luke Daniels. Every voice done perfectly and differently. My only issue is that the story has become increasingly complex. I enjoy a complex story but it seems incessant. Hopefully the next book will bring it back down to earth,... or tygon or the dream :)

Utterly pointless

Would you try another book written by Terry Schott or narrated by Luke Daniels?

Yes

What was most disappointing about Terry Schott’s story?

Alexa can't play this book beyond chapter 20, the stream is broken. It just gives error messages. The whole series was a massive waste of time and money.

Who might you have cast as narrator instead of Luke Daniels?

Nobody, he's great.

What character would you cut from Virtual Prophet?

I don't know. I never got to hear the end of the story. If he cut all of them I guess it would have saved me £24 and about 2 weeks of my life.

Any additional comments?

I'm really angry at Audible. We pay for a [relatively simple] service. Being able to stream overpriced audiobooks is Audible's entire business model, you'd think they could get it right.
