The most fun since I read Mary by Nat Cassidy

I've been looking for a book that compares to Mary by Nat Cassidy. It's comparable in it's female brutality and humor. The story line and characters are different but it has the same appeal. This story is like a fever dream you might have after reading Sense and Sensibility, I loved it. The book and narration is perfection!

A Grotesquely great listen!

Very well written and performed ! Loved every chapter. This book also made me laugh at times

Delivered what the title promised

Gruesome moments that made me squirm and overall the author delivered a disturbing, enjoyable, funny novel. I had a super enjoyable ride with a great payoff. Thank you!!!

A macabre romp!

This little novel is like an Edward Gorey drawing come to life. It’s darkly funny, horrifically gory, and highly entertaining.

This is comedy written for horror fans, not for sensitive readers or the faint of heart. It’s a scream!

In the Grand tradition of Clockwork Orange

Packed with zingers, black humor, and the embodiment of the horror of humanity. Very satisfying. I enjoyed it quite a bit.

What did I just read?

Horrific from start to finish and I bloody loved it. Every single bit of it.

Surprisingly mordant

While this novel is not really for the squeamish, it stands as a remarkably acute satire of the Victorian Age. The narrator does a wonderful job of keeping the listener off guard.

Interesting premise

The narrator really set the tone and made it delicious to listen to. The story was interesting and kept me engaged.

Beautifully unhinged

Beautifully written American psycho-esque. As if you let your most unhinged nanny-friend reveal their intrusive thoughts flow.

Lived up to title

Although I didn't connect with the main character, I can see the appeal for other readers. Interesting and twisted storyline. I didn't expect all the gruesomeness though the title should have been the giveaway. I can't fathom being so emotionless and cruel...probably why I don't work with psych patients and criminals. Don't want to yuck someone else's yum, as they say. Just not my cup of tea. Did love the narrator's voice - chillingly charming, exactly as I imagined the psycho in this book.
