Definitely DARK

Excellent writing and narration. There are definitely a lot of triggers in this book so just beware. Other than that it was a very well written book. There is intense chemistry between the 2 MCs. It’s definitely a twisted tale. I’m not really into the darkness of this story, but I will be listening to the next when it comes out. Especially if the narration is the same. The writer is excellent!

Narration was great. The story was super interesting, but it was very very dark. It was hard to listen to parts of the book that dealt with sexual violence towards women.

sapphic and starcrossed, pleads for more structure

I enjoyed the mystery and setup in the early chapters of this book, but soon got a bit of whiplash as Aura and Ruby's relationship evolved rapidly. their dynamic is a little unbelievable as they go from complete strangers to sub and dom in less than a night with very little dialogue. I wish we had more conversation between them to build up their relationship, instead of the extensive internal dialogues that we were given.

and although the sex scenes were very erotic and enjoyable, that lack of structure made them seem a bit too bitter and not enough sweet. I would have loved to hear a more intimate conversation between them, instead of the early hostile sex scene in the dressing room.

the narration got much more comfortable as the book went on, but the thing that always made me cringe was the impersonations of other characters, males especially. they were just really bad and distracted from the story.

I enjoyed the twist ending and reveled in the female victory though. all in all, a decent story with sexy characters and scenes and a happy ending.

Great narrating! Terrible story.

I loved the different voices used within the book! Very engaging and fantastic! But the issue I have is the story was SO rushed and rarely gave me any time to fall in love with the story or the characters. I also thought there were so many opportunities to make Aura’s history with the nation way more powerful and meaningful then a quick ( oh that happened! This happened to you? It’s happening again! Well the end!”) like I understand there is probably a series attached to this book but man. Nothing in me wants to read that at all. It’s all terribly rushed, and just weird.

Dark & forbidden

Vibe is the first dark sapphic romance that I had the pleasure of listening to, and the dual narration performed by Alyssa Avery and Faith Clark was a dreamlike experience. As always, I read along to the narration at bedtime.

Everything from Aura's upbringing in a cult to Ruby's dangerously carnal nightlife is what called me to this book. I especially love a character that has grown and overcome a traumatic past. These women faced conflict in every corner, which gave me the need to keep listening and reading on without stopping for a break. Living in a twisted world where you don't know who to trust, and having to constantly question your actions is an adventure of its own. Aura and Ruby both had their life turned upside down, and they continued to fight at everything thrown at them.
