About this listen

From the creators of Welcome to Night Vale, Alice Isn’t Dead, and Within The Wires comes the return of Unlicensed, their critically acclaimed Audible Original.

Out in the far reaches of Los Angeles County, where the glamor of Hollywood fades into the long empty of the desert, two unlicensed private detectives are about to face a case that is larger and more complicated then any they’ve faced before.

A ghost-hunting influencer disappears in the middle of a live stream. A beekeeper is murdered after telling his friends that he has come across a dangerous secret.

It is up to unlicensed PIs Lou Rosen and Molly Hatch to put together the pieces, as the powerful elite of California try to stop them. Even if they solve the case, can they come out the other side unscathed?

From the dusty citrus groves of Redlands to the wealthy enclaves of Monterey, season two of Unlicensed is the kind of grand California noir they just don’t make anymore.

Only reason I pay for Audible! I love this show!

I honestly subscribed to audible because of this podcast! I love this show. Jeffrey Craner and Joseph Fink write brilliant shows. I am a huge fan of “Welcome to Night Vale” and “Random Generator Number 9” and this show “Unlicensed” does not disappoint! The story of Lou and Molly and the cases they undertake are amazing and easily bingeable! 10 out of 10! I would recommend.

Nightvale writers produce more great work

I really enjoyed this series. It has well written and understandable characters you can truly empathize with and root for, great voice acting, fun twists and turns, and a satisfying conclusion. A fun follow up to the first series. I’d happily listen to many more.

Honestly I really enjoyed the first season and now this season is even better. I hope for the next book or season.

very fun!!

I like when a story has real historical facts mixed with a pseudo fantastical paralel reality setting, I was so glad to hear this comeback!!

The characters and the plot is very interesting!

I was ready for Lou and Molly to have a happy ending… but here we are left with another cliffhanger. Please don’t wait years before the third part of the story is released.

Loved the storytelling!

Awesome story telling. It was more of a play or a fireside chat radio show. Loved the different voices and sound effects that made the story real life like. Story was good and probable optimized because of this method. Will there be an Unlicensed 3? Let's hope.

womderful story, disappointing ending

Liked everything but the ending left too many open/unresolved questions for my liking, as if theyre more concerned with leaving the resolution to the next chapter. plus with all the build up regarding Lou's case/trial its a vit of a let fown how all that is pushed aside quickly

Simply amazing.

The show, the plot, the whiplash inducing twists snd turns…. This show is one of the best. I was surprised to see a season 2, and hope there is more down the road.

Great writing, great voice actors

The writing is very talented and unique in how they wind the multiple vignettes together within a larger story. The voice actors are all perfect for their characters. And I also laughed out loud (e.g., “Jane’s Recovery” and “The Whom” as classic rock tribute cover bands, HA).

Gorgeous!!

Everything about this production is brilliant; the story, the acting, the soundtrack. The characters are now personal to me. Of course I want more. I don’t know why my previous review indicated a “3” for the story when I gave it a “5”…I’ve tried to correct it. We’ll see what happens. Onward!!
