Publisher's summary

She vowed to never trust another man...until she met him.

A passionate new Long, Tall Texans romance from New York Times best-selling author Diana Palmer.

Clancey Lang knows how to run. She’s been doing it since the day she fled her abusive home to save her and her younger brother’s lives. That was the same day she decided to never let herself depend on anyone else. Especially men. Though she’s tempted - mighty tempted - to put her faith in her boss, ruggedly handsome Texas Ranger Colter Banks. If only he would look her way....

For far too long, Colter has been distracting himself with women he knows will never fully satisfy him. But there’s something about his pretty assistant, Clancey, that he simply can’t resist. Something slowly but surely drawing every ounce of his attention. But is he falling for a woman who’ll never let herself be caught?

Fun read

This book was pleasant to read although quite predictable. The characters are interesting and the storyline kept my attention. The narration is OK but The gentleman’s voice seemed a little odd for the female characters. I just think I prefer female narrators. I would suggest this book as just a pleasant table to read without much challenge to it. Often times that’s all we need right?

Good story line

it was a Great story line but the reader was kinda slow when reading the story, I ended up reading ahead of him a couple of times and I didn't really like she the author kept repeating the parts of the story

Young girl voice sounds like an elderly woman

It’s very hard to picture a young girl with a voice that deep and mature, for lack of a better word.

I’m sorry Diana but no more. So disappointed.

I have read her books for 40 years. Enjoyed them, but the last several years they have become very predictable and sadly the same. She needs a new editor to read the books with a red pencil to strike out all the repetitive talk. I’m sorry but I am returning this book. I still love her but can’t buy them anymore.

Don’t waste time or credit

DP has her own style, but this book is just garbage! This book has someone so poor she is eating plain grits, wearing ratty clothes, has to walk to work, has a horrible lung problem, oh and have a killer step brother after her but she is to proud to ask for help??!! Throw in raising her younger step brother, she only has a high school education and she rather put their lives in danger and live in a homeless shelter because she is to proud to ask for help??!! She is 22 or 23 she is so dang virginal she doesn’t know anything concerning sex or how a man and woman should feel concerning sex towards one another!! This type of plot gets really old even for DP! This book sounded like a cut and paste job! There is really no plot and it just goes on and on about nothing really! The narrator is really good I have listen to him in other books but even his talented voice couldn’t pull this book off!
