Publisher's Summary

Sheltered small-town girl Gretchen Brannon was utterly out of her element when she aligned herself with Sheikh Philippe Sabon, the formidable ruler of Qawi. They came from different worlds, yet she found a soul mate in the powerful, sensual man who'd suppressed his passions for far too long, and harbored a secret anguish. But he made this virtuous young woman aware of her own courage and, in turn, she aroused his sleeping senses as no other woman could.

However, now that Gretchen's heart belonged to the Lord of the Desert, danger loomed when she became the target for vengeance by the sheikh's most diabolical enemy. In a final showdown that would pit good against evil, could love and destiny triumph?

Not Much To It!

Not a bad idea for a story if it had been better developed. There really wasn't much to it. The story just wasn't believable.

Sometimes a narrator can improve upon a poorly written book, but not this one. Her Texas accent wasn't bad at times, sometimes I thought she sounded like Dolly Parton, from Tennessee.

A major disappointment.

I love Diana Palmers books and looked forward to "reading" them in the audible version. Imaging my shock and dismay when I realized that one of my favorite of her books had been butchered to the point that the story was ruined, the characters were flat and the romance gone. Save your money, buy the written version. It's so much better than this. If they ever get the unabridged version then it will be worth the money.

Awful

This was awful. I'm not sure if it was the writing that bothered me so much or the narrator, who spoke the heroine's lines breathlessly and the hero's lines in an odd old-man accent. How can you enjoy a book when the voices conjure images of Barbie and Walter Matthau (sorry, Walt) having an affair? A wasted 3 hours. Oh, well, at least I got my ironing done.

Book was not complete

The book is cut short and the really exciting parts were left out! For the price I paid I expected the whole book to be on audible and not get taken.

Not the full story

I have the book and read it and this one cuts way to short. Very disappointed that so many chapters were missed. There should be something stating this is a quick version with missed chapters.

Lord of the Desert

I loved this book when I read it many years ago . The Audible book was okay, but it missed a lot of the story. The part when Gretchen goes home to Texas , and the Sheik goes to bring her to back. Or the part about the explosions at the wedding.I enjoy listening to the stories when I drive. I would have e noted the whole story!
