Publisher's Summary

In this final installment of New York Times bestselling author Susan Stoker’s Silverstone series, a battle-scarred assassin must rescue an old flame from ruthless drug lords.

What was supposed to be a short trip to Jamaica becomes a years-long nightmare as Cassidy Hewitt and her son fall into the grip of an infamous drug kingpin. Desperate for rescue, Cassidy risks everything to send secret letters to the FBI, hoping someone, anyone, will answer her call.

When secret operative Leo “Gramps” Zanardi sees Cassidy’s letters, he knows this isn’t just another covert mission. The two had electric chemistry back in high school, and Leo finds himself eager for a reunion - even if the circumstances aren’t exactly ideal.

After arriving back in Indiana, Leo and Cassidy think they’re free to start a new life together. But the kingpin’s goons won’t let go of Cassidy so easily: they follow her from Jamaica, leaving carnage in their wake. Before the pair can fully embrace the love they’ve been missing all these years, they’ll need the entire Silverstone team’s help to be victorious in the showdown of their lives.

Why, oh why?

This story could have been so much better with a male narrator added! While she did an excellent job on the female voices, the male voices were so terrible it ruined the entire experience!

A big fan of the author, I had looked forward to Trusting Cassidy. If a deep sexy male voice had been added, my review would have been so much higher!

Disappointed

I've never skipped so many chapters in a book.
There's more babble than plot. The "main" story could have been 5 chapters long. What there was of a good story, gets the 2 stars.
Once again the narration was bad.
I don't like to be so critical about books, the authors spend valuable time writing them.
This book though, is the worst in the series. I wish I could get a refund. Yes, that bad.

Wow

What a great ending to a really good series. Gramps was so sexy and loving and accepting of Mario and Cassidy . I laughed and I cried and while the narrator is not one of my favs after chapter 3 I found the story so good that I didn’t notice the narrator at all. Can’t wait for Search and Rescue series and I love that Susan puts out the audio before the ebooks.

Great Series

Well thought out plots and exceptional charactrrs. The author did an amazing job and the narrator was instrumental in giving each character their individual personalities.

Horrible audiobook

I got this on audiobook which was a big mistake. Hearing the murder- torture part was disgusting and the sex scenes were like listening to bad porn. I am not sure why the author felt the need to put the expression "fuck" on almost every page. These are educated, successful, mature men and the expression didn't fit their characters.

Nice Wrap Up of the Series

The only reason I finished this book is because I’d read the rest of the series and really wanted to know Gramps story. The narrator’s tendency to read in short choppy phrases and end each with raised question like inflection was EXTREMELY distracting. Also her lack of excitement/expression when needed gave this a lackluster performance. It was very obvious she was READING the story. The best narrators give an auditory performance. I did notice these in previous books but as I said-I really wanted to know the last team member’s story. I will avoid books narrated by this reader in the future.
Thank you to the author for wrapping up the series so well with the extended epilogue. Although they are fictitious characters it is quite nice to be provided answers to some of my curiosities.

Trusting Cassidy

What a finish to the series. I have never been disappointed with any of Susan Stoker's books and she has done it again. What a tease there might be less than a HEA. The epilogue gives you something most do not.

trust

This story has plenty of action and intrigue . Leo find himself having to rescue Cassidy and her son and then with the psycho that comes after them. This story had a great blend of all the action with the relationship and home front as well.

🎧 Leo (Gramps) and Cassidy 🎧

Final couple in a 4 book romantic suspense series, featuring older heroes and sheroes in a range of ages.
5th star awarded for the 5/10/15/20 years later epilogues, each featuring one couple from the series. 👌

Poor

I have been a huge Susan Stoker fan for years, but this book was slow and repetitive. I'm not sure if it was worse because this is my first book from Susan on Audible and so was it took longer to listen as opposed to reading, the voices of the men were also not good!

Another idiot heroine with a great hero.

I was switching between reading and audible which I LOVE being able to do. Another idiot heroine who makes stupid decisions all the time. I have not read/listened to the first two books in this series. I loved that our elder Gramps/Leo gets his HEA with a girl/woman from his high school days. Sad with what happens but this series is not for the faint of heart with the actions that happen. I think I felt the sorriest for the child Mario. Though the speculation about his sexual orientation, he is the PC factor in this book, was overdone. The child is 11 years old, let him grow up first. And for goodness sake, get him some therapy for his trauma. Typical strong hero and a silly heroine who cannot listen and let people protect her. Good story with lots of action though Cassidy annoyed me at times. She seems to have not made one right decision in her life. Boo Hoo, the boy/man she was crushing on walked away as she was too young. And dragging her young son to Jamaica, not the best or worst place to move to for a job but why make the choices she does. Why not somewhere in the US? She was the one making the many bad decisions in their lives and is constantly doing or saying stupid things and was never pulled up about it. In fact, I felt they enabled her. Really, did she think Lloyd was going to treat her like a princess and put her up in style. We are dealing with drug lords, not known for being NICE people. Especially at the end when she does the TSTL act of giving herself up causing others to be hurt when protecting/saving her. But we keep getting told how strong she is, spine of steel. She should feel guilty for her stupid actions and bad decisions she has perpetrated over the years. Poor Smoke gets badly hurt and I hated that part. Made me cry. When Gramps tells her it isn’t her fault, he is wrong. Yes, it is all her fault. Though Leo was a wuss 25 years previously, his thinking that Cassidy was young at the time was correct. Loved the scene in the hospital with Molly and Kevin and Molly chastising Mark/Smoke. The epilogue was nice with everyone all together and the change in life direction.

Continues after the initial rescue

The first half of the book is action as the team try to rescue Cassidy and her son, plus further drama after they return home. The c rest of v the storyline follows the team members and their kids for 20 years. certainly a different style but nonetheless interesting.

Bloody brilliant book, and a perfect ending to the Silverstone Towing series. Susan Stoker has again delivered again! But in my opinion she never disappoints. Always recommend her books.

Silverstone Cassidy

Story teller very mundane and boring, overall story ok. Epilogue always good to hear years after. A bit disappointing I have all Susan stoker books but this audiobook not recommended. Sorry
