Publisher's Summary

Two brutal murders, a menacing band of poachers, and a fearsome creature on the loose in the mountains plunge Mattie Cobb and her K-9 partner Robo into a sinister vortex.

An explosion outside a community dance sends Mattie Cobb and Cole Walker reeling into the night, where they discover a burning van and beside it the body of outfitter Nate Fletcher. But the explosion didn’t kill Nate - it was two gunshots to the heart.

The investigation leads them to the home of rancher Doyle Redman, whose daughter is Nate’s widow, and the object of one of their suspect’s affection. But before they can make an arrest, they receive an emergency call from a man who’s been shot in the mountains. Mattie and Robo rush to the scene, only to be confronted by the ominous growl of a wild predator.

As new players emerge on the scene, Mattie begins to understand the true danger that’s enveloping Timber Creek. They journey into the cold, misty mountains to track the animal - but discover something even more deadly in Tracking Game, the fifth installment in Margaret Mizushima’s Timber Creek K-9 mysteries.

Quite enjoyable

Mattie Cobb and Robo and the Timber Creek sheriff's face a murder in their little town. As with the other Timber Creek books, Ms Mizushima laid layers upon layers of suspects and motives. Once again I enjoyed the beautiful descriptions of the Colorado landscape while following all the red herrings and possible suspects of the multiple murders in the quiet town. Along the way, Mattie struggled with her tangled emotions as she and Cole Walker moved closer together in their relationship. Ms Mizushima skillfully weaved plots and players together for a believable and satisfying conclusion. Listening to Nancy Wu narrate involved me fully in the story. I intend to keep with this series as long as Ms. Mizushima continues to write it.

Another hit!

This is one of my favorite canine mystery series. It is right up there with Diane Kelly’s paw enforcement series! That is a very high rating for me!
Robo is my hero! Everyone should have a Robo in their life!

Surprises around every corner

I have enjoyed all of Margaret Mizushima’s books! I think this is one of her best books to date. Just when I thought I knew where this book was going, it took a different direction. Talk about surprises!!
If you like mysteries that are well written, include the importance of family, have no bad language, and no graphic sex: this book is for you!!
I really liked this book and I’ll probably listen to this book again, and again.

Probably Just Love the Dog!!

I do enjoy books where the dog is the hero and these don't disappoint! The female cop does a great job also, but as a team they make great stories together. Will keep reading these as long as the stories stay fresh and entertaining.

Don't buy this book. Had to return.

The previous books were pretty good, but this was just too predictable and boring. Save your credit.

Clean romantic suspense

The story had enough twist and turns to be engaging. touch of romance but not over the top. The criminals trip themselves up and get caught. The dealtha were sad and senseless.

Love this series

I truly enjoy this series with endearing characters and interesting plot lines. Sometimes I wish it would move along a bit more briskly without expounding so much on every detail and thought, but overall it’s lovely and I want to hear more of these characters’ lives and journeys!
