I just finished my audio trip around America with Tim…

And I love both of them more than I did before. I felt like I was riding shotgun with him at times and wish that I was at others. My only regret was that this adventure had to end. Can’t wait for the next one.

Get in, Beloved

Loads of thoughts - finished listening to the book today. *SPOILER ALERTS AHEAD

This book is "Don Juan" meets "Into the Wild" meets "Deuce Bigalow Male Gigalo" meets actual prodigal son story read by Jesus meets "Wild America" meets anything that Will Farrell is in meets "Liar Liar" meets "Odyssey of a Modern Jew" by Art Katz.

I know the Felz family well. I went to Anna's wedding with Tim: their family is eaten up with talent, a joie de vivre tribe, they are all a force of nature in their own way and I appreciate each of them so much. From irreplaceable Uncle Paul who one cannot help but love, to the grandma who I wish any of us were privileged enough to meet- she was an incredible woman.

Highlights from the book for me were learning more about the Felz family. I shared space with Tim after his sister's divorce: I felt the impact that that had on him, and to a measure, on the family. The love between Paul and Tim is absolutely a highlight. That is God-orchestrated stuff and that relationship is holy. God is in the midst of that and there is a heaven-bullseye on both of those men’s back as far as I am concerned. Git 'em, God !

I attended UGA with Tim, so some of the names mentioned in this epoch of course I know, of course I had personal attentiveness and it was supreme/sublime hearing these story tellings with actual living characters, precious people that I deeply love. Though I don't personally know the celibate man in the forest guy that lost his mom, that story may be my favorite throughout the tale. God is real, and he cares so precisely about the minute, acute details that He highlights to ultimately draw us to Himself. He mourns with us. He grieves with us. He is the Healer, Jesus is King !

I love the strong voices of men fighting for Tim's life throughout this tale. I love you guys ! I appreciate you ! I honor you, I thank you for how you incredible men have served, protected, cherished, covered women. I shared space with many of you in ministry and in prayer meetings and even moments in New York speakeasy's. You know who you are, I cherish our memories. Our time at UGA in the trenches was a protected, holy, precious time.

I love the guy in LA that is in love with this woman that is ghosting him and it turns into a prayer meeting. What a beautiful depiction of a man with his heart on the line and loving a woman no matter what. Sacrificial love.

I believe the Jesus romance/pursuit story at the latter end of this tale is genuine. This book goes to show that no matter how ugly and angry and heartbroken we can be stomping our feet in the dirt because of pain, Jesus is the Good Shepherd leading us through the peaks and valleys.

Last I will say this: a friend of Tim's had a dream that he, himself, and Tim will be instrumental in combating the porn industry/principality. I believe this special calling on Tim with all of my heart. I think each of us can look back in our personal histories and see where we have had the most breakdown and "attack." Clearly there is a sexual predation over Tim's life, the devil is literally trying to steal his inheritance AND shame him to death to make him feel like he could never hold weight in the area of victory and obliterating darkness with the accompanying entire calvary of heaven at his back.

All I can say is that I cannot wait to see what these mighty men of God do for the kingdom of heaven and for the absolute wrecking and demolition of the porn cartel (in the seen and unseen worlds). I cannot wait to see what you guys do, together, in the grace of God, with the power of God, with the might of God forever.

Welcome back to "the fold" Tim, your place at the table was never erased.

Okay last but not least, the biggest irony is that God has more wildness in store for us that makes this book read like a pile of dust. Clearly Tim needed to run and spread his wings and fly, only to find in the end that it was all ashes in his mouth at the end that he couldn't turn back to. That is the grace of God, and God is literally trying to rip us out of the slums into his eternal, bottomless mysteries. I'll end on this quote because it is the truth, God bless C. S. Lewis:

We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We think "Top Dead Center" is amazing or wild. All I have to say is that we enter into deeper, higher, longer, wider levels of the knowledge of God, all I can say is BUCKLE UP. We do not know wild, yet. Harry Potter and Tim Felz ain't got nothin on what is actually real, and what is actually coming.

Fleeting fleeting fleeting, green blast in the sky, wind in the sequoias ...

Who but God could turn an autobiographical journal entry into a witness for redemption and God meeting us exactly where we are at, and basically God is looking at us at the end of that struggle saying, "Get in, Loser"

Except God doesn't say get in loser, He says "Get in, Beloved."

If you're reading this and you've had a similar trajectory as Tim, now is the time, Get in, Beloved !

Addendum, can't wait to see how Ungrocery grows. Congrats to all of you on that ! I hope that it becomes all that it is dreamt to be with integrity, efficiency, truth, and good faith business. You got this ! And good luck.

Also imagine if King David had audible and the internet when he manhandled Bathsheba and killed her husband, that would be wild. If any of us thinks we are disqualified for being wild and acting an absolute complete fool, remember King David and God's kindness and forgiveness towards him. Remember David's repentance and immediate attitude as a true son of God, trusting God's cleansing and forgiveness. That is what is available to each and every one of us, every day.
