Beverly Jenkins does an amazing job mixing history and love stories! She keeps you captivated with an interesting twist in the plot. We get front row seats into the lives of black people during a time in history where we are often forgotten.

The plot was interesting and well organized. The characters, like ALL of Beverly Jenkins characters, were very well developed. They felt like human beings,strong personalities that you rooted for and wanted to get to know.
The historical contexts are visual and informative.
I read the book several times before buying the Audible version.
I love me some Beverly Jenkins books. Please keep writing.
