Publisher's summary

We live in a cultural moment where the definition of “woman” eludes the keenest of thinkers and brightest of scientists, where one’s biological sex and one’s gender are divorced, where the meaning of gender itself is a constantly moving target, and where girls and women, especially, struggle to know who they are. Where societal confusion has naturally ensued from this state of affairs, and Christians especially wonder how to think and respond to it, Katie J. McCoy offers a clear and helpful guide in her debut book, To Be a Woman.

In these book, Katie will help you understand: why, as a culture, we’ve arrived in such a place of gender confusion; what the relationship is between biological sex and gender, and why this relationship is so crucial; the truth about gender transitioning, including the irreversible damage of hormone therapy on the female human body; common myths and misunderstandings in the gender debate; what Scripture and science have to say on the matter; ways to respond in a Christlike way to loved ones struggling with gender identity.

Fair, rational, and relevant

McCoy’s book is thorough compassion, and very fair. Her book takes an extensive look at psychology, sociology, and biology to form a a multifaceted picture of gender. She makes a compelling case that well-meaning people are actually causing irreparable harm to many young lives. This book is a must read for those looking to speak intelligently about this topic.

Truth offered with grace about an important topic

Dr. McCoy does a great job laying out the facts and discussing a truly horrible issue facing young people today. She does not retreat from Scriptural truth because of cultural pressure, but brings to light the truly evil affliction brought on by the trans ideology. She does this with expressing love and compassion. This book models a response I believe all Christians should strive for. Stand firm in the truth, do not waver from the pressure, but show those who disagree the honor and respect due anyone made in the image of God. Our fight is not against flesh and blood, it is against the demonic influence in our world. Even those who oppose our message and seek to destroy us are not ultimately the enemy, they are the object of the rescue mission. I highly recommend this book to everyone!
