Publisher's summary

Gabriel Carter is the biggest, cockiest asshole I've ever met. He's a six-foot-three ex-baseball player with sexy muscles and smoldering looks that turn my body into a traitorous mess.

Did I mention he's also the reason business at my family's hotel is quickly going down the drain?

I shouldn't want him, but try explaining that to my body. Especially after he proposes a business deal to me that will be mutually rewarding - both financially and sexually.

Sleep with the enemy?

Nah, I'll just marry the bastard instead.

Lighthearted pleasure!

**Free audiobook code received in exchange for an honest review**

Thrust Under was a very enjoyable story with memorable characters, the perfect amount of steamy bits, and low angst. The narrator, Meghan Kelly, did an impressive job with the male voices in the book and really helped bring the story to life. This is a quintessential beach book!!

WooHoo! It is a home run! 4.5 Wonderful Stars!

I’ve enjoyed books from both author before so I thought this would be a hit and it did not disappoint. Really loved the story-line and the main characters Gabe and Maggie who had great chemistry together. This is a sweet story with some hotness and a bit of drama. A great book for a rainy afternoon. I listened to the Audiobook non-stop straight through. The narrator Meghan Kelly is absolutely wonderful, she tells in in a way where the story flows seamlessly from character to character, she does both the female and male voices effortlessly and to perfection. When listening it is hard to believe it is only one narrator.

Cute afternoon read

Thrust Under was a cute fake marriage romance that was just what I needed to help make my afternoon interesting. It had just enough sexual tension and drama to keep me wanting more until the very end.

The narration was great! Meghan did another great job!

This was hot!

Talk about chemistry, the sparks fly between Maggie and Gabriel from their first meeting. They take a while to make it into bed together but that's not due to lack of trying on Gebriel's part. The romance does develop fairly quickly, but it doesn't feel forced.

I really enjoyed the writing, the story is funny, the characters are well done, I would have liked some more angst but overall it was a great read/listen. If you're after a serious story then this isn't for you, but if you;d like something lighthearted and hot then this is right up your alley.

The character voices are well done and I thought the delivery did a good job of conveying emotion, the pacing was also good.

Really good book

This book was so good. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Initially, Gabe was a bit cocky ex-ball player but Maggie wasn’t having it. He owned a very successful hotel next to her parent’s hotel. His hotel was thriving to the tune of $900/night for a room. Her parent’s hotel was slowly failing. Gabe comes up with a proposition for her to help save her parents' hotel. The proposition works out better than either of them thought it would. There is also a nasty ex in the mix too. I would have loved for the book to continue a little longer or have a part 2.

Meghan Kelly did a very good job with the narration.. I received this free copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Enemies to lovers

When the sexy ex baseball player current hotelier is putting your family’s resort out of business you have no choice than enter a fake marriage with him. The plot is a bit outlandish but it’s a really enjoyable listen. There is great chemistry and a pretty sweet love story. Meghan Kelly is amazing and doesn’t disappoint here!

Authors and narrator make a magical combination...

Thrust under is a beautiful love story about two people, broken by past hurts, that find each other. They might have insta-lust when they meet, but they actually start as more enemies than lovers. The heroine, Maggie, is such a strong and feisty character, and the hero, Gabe, quickly recognizes and comes to appreciate that strength and fire. Maggie puts up more of a fight, but Gabe patiently coaxes her along until she realizes her enemy has become her true love. Even more than a romance, Thrust Under is about both main characters letting go of the past and learning to focus on their bright future together.

I can't give the narrator, Meghan Kelly, enough praise. She has rapidly become my favorite female narrator. She perfectly portrays Gabe as a strong, sexy man while portraying Maggie as a determined but ultra-feminine woman. Her delivery makes the characters' emotions all the more believable, and her performance is absolutely flawless. The combination of Valentine, Snow and Kelly makes for a magical experience.

Be careful who you wish for

There's that classic plot device where someone shows up that you want to avoid. So, you grab onto the nearest stranger and hope for the best. The unfortunate tragedy or comedy ensues when that nearest stranger happens to be the one person you were despising, dredging, hoping for, praying for, or some combination of the above. In any case, this makes them worse than the person that you originally wanted to avoid. Then throwing the fact that they are a close competitor and things seem to go from bad to worse. However, as with most fiction worse is not yet begun to describe the depths to which this new situation can sink.

The narrator does a fantastic job as her voice is naturally situated in such a way that it can go from growling or broody male, to high-pitched and hyperactive best female friend, with all the throaty and lusty transitions in between.

Thankfully, unlike most romances, have biological scenes which most of them seem to think a necessity of a good romance novel are less frequent in this story and therefore do not overpower the main plot or leave it as an afterthought. There is even, some hints at unresolved issues or an open and the ending which could leave room for a continuation or sequel which I would be happy to read.

Insta-Love at its best!

Thrust Under was a super easy and fun listen. It has all the elements that "thrust" you right into the storyline. The authors didn't waste any time with backstory. Nope, instead, you were right along with Maggie as she returns home. She's immediately faced with a dynamic problem that not only has the power to hurt her, but also her parents.

Enter Gabe! Oh, swoon...Gabe is the absolute best. Cocky and perfection, but just the right amounts. A deal is made and that's when the sparks fly.

Valentine and Snow add the perfect mix of angst and chemistry to make this a powerful listen. The quick pace kept me intrigued rooting for Maggie and Gabe.

The narration is spot on pulling out the description of the characters. Highly recommended from HJ Bellus!
