Story
Two classic stories of finding love where you least expect it! Marriage Wanted: As far as Nash Davenport's concerned, marriage isn't shelter from the storm - it is the storm. He's a divorce attorney, himself divorced, who believes no married couple can live up to their wedding vows. My Hero: Would-be romance writer Bailey York has already failed twice at love. She thinks men are wonderful to read and write about, but that's it. Which is probably why she has such difficulty creating a hero for her novel. What she needs is a real-life example.

Publisher's Summary
"If I want to get married and have a family (and I do), it's time for a plan!" (From Hallie McCarthy's diary)
The alarm on Hallie's biological clock is buzzing away. She's hitting the big three-0, and there's no prospect of marriage, no man in sight. But Hallie's an organized, goal-setting kind of person. She gives herself a year to meet Mr. Knight in Shining Armor. But all her dates are disasters. (There's the cheapskate and the sex fiend and - well, never mind.)
Too bad she can't just fall for her good-looking neighbor, Steve Marris. He's definitely not her type. Anyway, Steve's busy trying to win back his ex-wife, Mary Lynn, who's busy getting married - but not to Steve. Life would be so much simpler if he could fall for someone else. Like...Hallie.
They're friends, though - and sometimes friends become lovers. Sometimes friends become more....

Great story but disappointing content
I will buy any book with Debbie Macomber's name on it because I know it will be good and will be free of sexual details. Hence the reason this story was a little bit disappointing. Content was not explicit and was minimal but really not necessary. Macomber's work is a refreshing change from the majority of romance fiction out there. I feel like this book compromised the integrity of her work. I will continue to be a Macomber fan however I hope she holds strong to her beliefs and doesn't succumb to the pressure of sexual content to sell books.

This needs to be made into a movie! Couldn’t put it down
Loved it! Loved the story, romance, and slight humor. You really could see the story unfold with all the details. I’ve seen one of Debbie Macomber’s books-turned Hallmark movie... which was fabulous! If they made this to a movie, I can easily see Jesse Metcalfe playing Steve. 😉

Not bad, but definitely not great
First of all, I can not express how much the narrator’s voice grated on me. Her voice was basically robotic, and her version of the male voices were horrible. The way that she conveyed the character’s conversations had a very unrealistic feel to them too. She simply read the story (and didn’t do that well), she didn’t perform it as a good narrator does. In terms of the story, it was just okay. It did hold my interest for the whole book, although it was predictable. I don’t mind that though, as long as I “enjoy the ride” so to speak, in getting to the end. Some of the vocabulary and terms the author used, I found to be a bit cringe worthy in their goofiness (real people don’t talk that way), but I got past it. At the end of the day, I think I would have enjoyed this book a lot more with a different narrator. Having said that, I will give another one of Debbie Macomber’s books a try.
