Demetri Martin
From the renowned comedian, creator, star and executive producer/multiple title-holder of Comedy Central's Important Things with Demetri Martin comes a bold, original, and rectangular kind of humor book.
Demetri's first literary foray features longer-form essays and conceptual pieces (such as Protagonists' Hospital, a melodrama about the clinic doctors who treat only the flesh wounds and minor head scratches of Hollywood action heroes), as well as his trademark charts, doodles, drawings, one-liners, and lists (i.e., the world views of optimists, pessimists and contortionists), Martin's material is varied, but his unique voice and brilliant mind will keep listeners in stitches from beginning to end.

Good but lacks reader experience

Another thing to add is that there are some jokes in here that don't really make sense in an audiobook, but in a book would actually be quite funny. I say pick up the book version instead. This also makes it easier to go back to your favorite jokes and show them to your friends.
The "genie FAQs" was my favorite.
Some books just can't be audiobooks

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely! I already have. What does Demetri Martin bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The delivery in his voice emphasizes the humor.Any additional comments?
I wasn't sure about this as an audiobook, because his stand up involves a lot of visuals but this book was fantastic! Very witty and enjoyable, I will definitely listen to it again and again!Loved it!

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I would not recommend this book because the format of audiobook makes this book hard to follow. I think Demetri is at his best when he has the benefit of having a visual aid, this book drags on and is a tough listen. I really want to like it because I like everything else Demetri puts out.How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
Demetri has a signature tone when he speaks but unfortunately he maintains that tone throughout the audiobook and it becomes very monotone. It is a short book but being that its so boring it takes a lot of effort and persistence to complete. I've finished 12hr and 8hr books in between this one which is only 4hrs.Would you be willing to try another one of Demetri Martin’s performances?
I don't think so. Books, yes; Stand-up, yes; Audiobook, no.Do you think This Is an AudioBook needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
Please no.I love Demetri Martin
