If you've ever been told you're too much...
Samantha Canton feels your pain. She knows she is, well, a lot. It's been a rough year, to put it mildly, so she is overjoyed to find out she gets to go on her dream work trip to Europe. But she’s not going alone. She’ll be crossing the pond with the company’s CFO, Emerson Clark. Icy Emerson, as the industry calls him, is logical, serious and quiet. He likes solitude, the color gray, rain and hot tea - he is British, after all.
And he cannot stand Samantha in all her extra, southern, chatty, upbeat, neon-dress-wearing glory.
No problem, she’s never met someone she couldn’t befriend.
Until Now. Commence nervous verbal diarrhea. And commence the ultimate Grumpy/Sunshine, Billionaire, Enemies to Lovers, Slow Burn Boss Romance with rich characters and a payoff that will leave you absolutely giddy.
**This is a steamy, full-length standalone adult contemporary romance. Prepare for Manhattan, London, Paris, surprise twists, laugh-out-loud banter, a happily ever after, and a sisters group text thread you’ll wish you could join. This is the second Heartlanders book but can be listened to on its own.**

Each of them have been made to feel “less than” by people who didn’t understand their true natures. Samantha was made to feel like she was “too much” because she was simply finding joy in all the little things. Emerson was made to feel like a “cold, dead fish” because he was not effusive with his feelings. They were incredibly similar, even with their opposite personalities.
Samantha tries and tries to be a good friend to Emerson, but always seems to do the wrong thing, only to feel rebuffed by him. Emerson is convinced he isn’t the right man for Sam, so he tries to thwart any sort of relationship. When they finally admit their feelings for one another, their chemistry is explosive, but throughout the relationship, Emerson continues to think that he’s not the right man for Sam. He eventually succeeds in pushing her away, without disclosing WHY he is pushing her away.
With the help of some good friends (and Sam’s sisters), Emerson grovels, and finally reveals his long-standing love and admiration for Samanatha, and tells her the truth about why he didn’t think he was a good enough partner. With a grand gesture that takes them to Paris ;oP, they finally are able to mend their broken relationship.
I love that Emerson and Samantha are fully able to “see” one another! They love and respect one another’s social needs, without it compromising their own needs! In the beginning, I did find Samantha to be a bit much with *all the enthusiasm,* but the more I read her, the more I felt that she was just genuinely filled with joy, and absolutely LOVED being around people. (Sort of a foreign concept for me! HA!!)
