Every bartender should follow one simple rule - don't go home with the customers. That’s been easy for me to stick to, until the night a cocky, confident, and sinfully charming hockey star walks into my bar. This sexy athlete is too hard to resist, especially when he makes it clear how much he wants the “sarcastic, witty, hot AF” guy behind the bar - also known as me. Still, I’m not keen on breaking my own rules since I know where that can lead - no place good.

Dear Mr. Vega: I felt it necessary to follow up on today’s meeting, since we weren’t able to speak candidly in front of your son. I was shocked to discover that you are Ryder’s dad. I think it would be best if we just pretend that we met in person for the first time today. Picture this - I’m ready to win back the love of my life, and I’m going big this time. We’re talking boom box, sing her name in the rain, let the whole damn neighborhood know I'm good and ready this time around. After all, if you're going to grand gesture the ever-loving hell out of a second chance, you need to pull out all the stops. There’s only one little problem. Hi! I’m Seth! I was asked to describe my audiobook, Yearbook for websites and shit like that, so...here it goes!!! Yearbook is a collection of true stories that I desperately hope are just funny at worst, and life-changingly amazing at best. (I understand that it’s likely the former, which is a fancy “book” way of saying “the first one.”) I talk about my grandparents, doing stand-up comedy as a teenager, bar mitzvahs, and Jewish summer camp, and tell way more stories about doing drugs than my mother would like.

Nothing good ever comes from drinking a box of wine alone. So when I decided to entertain my drunken self by setting up some hand-me-down podcasting equipment and reading the steamy parts from romance novels, I never thought anyone would actually listen. The fact that I admitted my huge crush on my sexy next door neighbor made the whole thing even more mortifying. But sometimes life surprises you, and that’s how my podcast, Heidi’s Discount Erotica, was born. Now I, Heidi Larsen, a sweet former kindergarten teacher in Waconia, Minnesota, lead a scandalous double life.

This was my first audio play and it was a hoot. It was so funny especially to a romance audiobook lover like me. I loved all the teasing and inside jokes made to the listeners, authors, narrators and engineers involved in romance audiobooks. I laughed so many times during this short audio and I also could relate to so much of it. This was my first time listening to an audiobook written by my favorite narrator and I just have to say this women is so talented, I am glad she is venturing into the world of being an author. Can't wait to see what she will be releasing next.
The narration of this audio play was fantastic but that isn't a surprise with this amazingly talented cast of people. Every one of them was cast perfectly for their parts and they sounded like they had a blast recording it. You could just hear the smiles in their voices.

The Funniest Audiobook of All Time
The title of my review says it all. I cannot express how funny this audio play was. It has me still laughing after listening to it more than once.
The peformances by the cast were spot on. It's like what better way to describe an industry than having it written by a beloved peformer and narrated by her friends and colleagues. Just fantastic.
I found myself in a few of the scenes and I know everyone who listens can relate. I am sure listeners will probably try to add their own thoughts on who these characters could be. FYI, we all know this is fiction, but man it ain't that far from the truth.
If you need an escape from the 'new normal', grab your ear buds (yes, because it gets a little dirty) and take a trip with E-Mallon and her band of Narrator Misfits!

Best. Audio Play Ever
This audio play is fantastic. The parody, the wit, humor, and satire they all work so well. And this CAST!
Andi Arndt as a wife with a love for romance novels and one particular male voice (I mean who does THAT?). Shane East is her husband, who is a writer, a REAL writer, not a romance writer. He does not consider THAT real writing. Their Characters Vera and Cameron, just might be in a bit of rut. Until he finds himself with cotton panties stuck in his mouth.
Jen(Nifer) and Neil - the newbie romance narrator (Emma Wilder) and the sound guy (Teddy Hamilton). OMG Emma so accurately portrays some of us saying, "what?" during some scenes. And Teddy, oh Teddy's rant on being the unsung hero and how his vast knowledge is not appreciated. I love it every time.
Then there is Atticus, the Narwhal, the best male romance narrator out there. With an ego the size of NYC, and a female voice that would scare small children. You just have to listen to this - it is golden. This character is of course played by Joe Arden, and he is perfect.
The last character is played by Tanya Eby who is the author of these books and she weaves her way through all these stories in a very ingenious way. Her Georgia Peaches love her!
Which brings us to Erin Mallon who wrote this and is the Narrator. What, what, she wrote this? Yes she did! This is definitely one you will re-listen to over and over again.
There is NO reason NOT to buy this. I think I'm going to listen again later too!

Faded humor
I purchased this story with high hopes for a continuation of the humor showcased in the excerpt. Sadly, it fades in this short story. So I was a bit bored by the end of the story and had to struggle to finish this tale. I enjoyed the characters and the peak into their complexity. There's a married couple with a daughter, a widowed single woman, 2 single men, and a seemingly single woman. At the end of this story, there's a sneak listen into another story by this author. It didn't showcase any humor. So I think my view that this author doesn't have sustainable humor in the writing has merit.
The narration couldn't be beat.

Love this Quirky and Hilarious Rom-Com!
This quirky, and hilarious audio play was so much fun to listen to! I loved this unique, yet relatable, story that makes us see ourselves, and the world of audiobooks, in a whole new and entertaining way. Erin Mallon created an excellent script that weaved many facets together so seamlessly. She also assembled a stellar cast that had great chemistry and gave bold performances of hilariously eccentric characters! I started laughing from the very beginning and didn't stop giggling or laughing until well after it was finished. Bravo!

A slice of silly fun
This was a much-needed mini vacay for me. It was silly, sweet and, in some ways, relatable. I wish I could get my husband to listen sometimes to reignite his flirtatious mojo. I think a lot of men (and women) can be really good at the pursuit and dating part, but then don't know to (or how to) keep that going forward into the marriage.
Granted, romance novels are FANTASY, but there are definitely elements that I've brought into my 12 year marriage (let's just say that I've taken a certain "job" up several levels!😉). And I think spouses would also get inspired, except for my fear that the (largely unrealistic) traits of every man in these books would backfire. (I mean, I definitely have to get past my own insecurities when the lead female is like a super model, who is only 25 but already the vice president of some huge corporation)... but I remind myself it's FANTASY and then enjoy the heck out of the book.
I'm rambling now... in summary, fun story, enjoyable characters, and of course the narrators were all fantastic.

Perfect cast that had me laughing and swooning
Right now is a time I could really use laughs. I've been knee deep in a lot of non fiction audios that have been some very hard and eye opening reads, but These Walls Can Talk came in clutch and had me laughing for nearly two straight hours while driving. I got like two stories in one and the audio was Fanfreakingtastic.
What do you get when you take the audiobook listeners, the authors of those books and combine it with the narrators that narrate those books? You get this play by Erin Mallon that was creative and packed the much needed comedic punch I was seeking. It will have you laughing and maybe even swooning just a little bit. And can I get amen for Cameron trying to make a scene work? That had me cracking up!
If you need to lighten up your reading or listening load, look no further. It is short and sweet, but packs plenty in that amount of time. The narrators are some of the best in the romance industry and as a listener of audiobooks, you can't ask for more. But I wish we got more. I wish it was longer. It's my only complaint and that's not that much. I just loved all the characters and their chemistry and wanted more of them. Please create another group read like this again, Erin Mallon. Please?? ;)

COMPLETELY FANTASTIC AND HILARIOUS!
This may be the most fun my ears have had since quarantine started. I listened to the debut of this audio, live on Aural Fixation FB. It is even better than I remembered and an absolute must listen for everyone!
I feel very seen- Can any other audiobook listeners relate?
This story was funny and awkward and a little too relatable. Erin Mallon called out romance audiobook fans in a way that is funny yet still kind. We do have a strange love and fascination with our narrators especially our favorites and the ones that record under pseudonyms or keep their faces out of the equation. The hilarity of this book was enhanced even more by how meta this play is, simply by having narrators talking about themselves, qualities of their personas and what they are doing.
Joe Arden, Emma Wilder and Teddy Hamilton's scenes were hysterical, like a peek behind the curtain into romance audiobook recording. Shane East and Tanya Eby's scenes gave us insight into the writer's process and Andi Arndt was standing in my shoes and those of so many audiobook listeners who escape into book and use the story and narration to heal something inside them.
This is an absolute must listen!!

How many way can I say hilarious? A must listen.
I don’t know about you, but in these strange times we’re living in, I’m more inclined to want a laugh out loud experience than anything else. Well, These Walls Can Talk delivers just that. From the fantastic writing to the incredible performances, it has it all. This audio play is like a love letter to romance audiobook fans everywhere. It’s funny, with so many tongue in cheek references that listeners will love. I don’t think I’ve ever listened to an audio play before but when Erin Mallon releases something, I sit up and pay attention. And boy am I glad I did. This book is everything I needed right now. It’s a short listen, so easily listened to when you have a couple of hours to spare. I loved that each character is given an arc and their time to shine, and shine they do. I could totally relate to Vera and Cameron’s relationship, and I had so many laugh out loud moments with not only them but the entire play. A definite must listen. I think the cover is a fantastic representation of the story within.
Shane East is the voice of Cameron, a “serious writer” and he’s so typically British. I say that with the utmost respect for Erin’s writing. Not everyone is able to pull off the British voice, but she does it seamlessly, and of course, in true Shane fashion, he performs it perfectly. There were times when I was holding my sides because it was so funny. His interactions with both Andi and Tanya were gold.
Andi Arndt is the voice of Vera, she has a little obsession with a voice actor, hey, we’ve all been there, right? Right! Her interactions with Shane were fantastic and that first scene, in the kitchen, man, I don’t think I’ve laughed that much in a very long time. My husband came to check on me, and honestly, it just made me laugh harder because how he reacted was so Cameron-like. Andi is wonderful in everything she does and that is showcased well in this audio play.
Emma Wilder is the voice of Jennifer, a new audiobook narrator. I just love Emma’s performances, and this one is no different. Her incredulity of the content and the men around her really shone through. I loved her interactions with both Joe and Teddy. Emma is fast becoming my go-to female voice of choice. Anyone else wanting a Nifer story, no, just me? Okay then.
Joe Arden is the voice of Atticus aka the Narwhal, a popular audiobook narrator. I just can’t, I love angsty Joe but funny Joe is right up there. He was hilarious and his female voice was priceless. I want to send it to everyone wanting to get into narration with a big sign that says, what not to do. lol. There were also moments of vulnerability that were just fantastic and really showed how multifaceted Joe is as a performer. PSA: Joe Arden actually has a fantastic female voice, do not let his performance colour your decision to pick up a dually narrated book. This is just proof of his amazing, entertaining talent.
Tanya Eby is the voice of Georgia, a bestselling author whose audiobook is being recorded by Jennifer and Atticus. I loved the character, and I loved how she was performed. Tanya’s southern is on point. I knew I was going to love Tanya in this role as I’ve listened to a number of her romcom performances and she always brings the comedy in a skilled way.
Teddy Hamilton is the voice of Neil, the sound engineer working with Jennifer and Atticus. I’m so used to hearing Teddy the nice guy, that it’s so strange to hear him be something else. As a “recovering misogynist” he was able to not only showcase the character but enable him to be likeable too. He was such an a**e at times, and others, so vulnerable that you just wanted to give him a hug. Which just shows his versatility.
Erin Mallon not only wrote the play that was performed in NYC earlier this year, but she also narrated/ directed the audio play. As always, she is a volcano of talent and it never ceases to amaze me. If only we could all just siphon off a tiny bit of her talent for ourselves.
The bonus content is a nice little extra. It includes bloopers, which were just as funny as the play itself. Even more so in some parts.

Brilliant
It was like it was written about me, I work in an office alone and am always listening to books with one earbud in, I was almost shouting at her to take one out so she could hear the phone hahaha I drive to and from work with it on in the car, get home and walk the dog with an earbud in then cooking and listening, it'sso addictive! Brilliant book, great narration cast, thank you, thank you 😊

Loved it!!
First audio play I've listened to and it was awesome. It had me laughing from the beginning. So many teasing and inside jokes aimed towards us listeners, Authors, and narrators. The performance by the cast was beyond amazing. Everything was spot on, this is one of the best audiobook I've ever listened to. This one will be going in my relisten section especially for when I need a good laugh.

Comedy Gold with a fabulous cast
Good god where to start with this one ☺️
Seldom have I been this entertained and laughed so much while listning to an audiobook. I get Vera, I really do! Heck I could be vera 🙈 and I can pretty much relate to everything she is going through.
The full cast does a wonderful job bringing all the characters to life, and I especially enjoyed Teddy Hamilton as the hand drumming sound engineer 😂
And just when you think the fun is over you get a blooper reel which is really hilarious. To top it all of it ends with a little taste of “Flirtasaurus”. I have always been a big fan of Erin as a narrator and boy does she ace it too with her writing skills.
5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Go check it out 🤩

OMG
I can't stop laughing! This is soooo good, so funny snarky and cute all at the same time! I don't have a great sense o humor and I don't find rom-coms funny, but this audiobook is amazing, super funny, a great comedy. The great part is I can relate with the story so much. The casting is amazing, I love all the narrators and I think they had much fun narrating this piece of art.

** Golden Hilarity **
This was one the most hilarious plays I’ve ever listened to!
With the ever clever, witty and masterful writing of Erin Mallon, combined with the best narrator collaboration (in my opinion 😉), the end result is everything it should be, ie, PERFECTION!
Team, I salute you! Thank you for making my day a whole lot better.
