Emotionally wrenching...FANTASTIC writing!!

I LOVED this book! What a beautiful, tragic, moving story. Marie Force truly knows how to play on your emotions, taking you to the lowest low and bringing you back to pinnacle. This is a love story with a HUGE whodunnit, but it also covers the impact that the wreck (the tradgedy that spurns the whodunnit) has on not just hero/heroine, but the community, the families of those involved...but in such a great way you're contstantly immersed in the story. I didn't want to turn this one for a second, I just wanted the story keep going. The narration was fabulous!!
Nothing about this wasn't a WIN!!

Incredible romantic suspense!

This book, in true Marie Force style has a little of everything..romance, suspense, sadness, angst, and hot sex. Going from high school to their thirties, we were able to see Brian and Holly deal with the death of their best friends in completely different ways. The frustration that was felt by both was evident throughout and when they finally came back together, even when in danger, you let loose a huge sigh of relief. The plot twists in this book kept me completely surprised, and the ending was a complete shocker!

Holly Fielding as always gave an incredible performance in the audio version.

Great thriller & mystery

Couldn't stop listening. Every time I though I knew who it was, I'd change my mind by the next chapter. Loved it. I could swear the narrator was a man and a woman.

Not plausible to me

While the Wreck was well written and some of the characters were interesting, the main plot just didn't seem plausible to me. Someone who is traumatized by witnessing a violent event does not "snap out of it" 15 years later, and suddenly act and feel normal. People can & do recover from many difficult experiences but usually it's a gradual process the involves counseling and setbacks. This story had potential but .....

Great listen!

What made the experience of listening to The Wreck the most enjoyable?

This is a wonderful story which captured me from the start! The tragedy is sad and it's contribution to devastating so many lives was depicted well.. The survival of these two main characters was well written. Loved the characters, the twists, and turns. Okay, so flip side...Was disappointed with ending and that it took 15 yrs for them to find their way back to each other. Would've liked more wrap up with Zoe. Didn't like that they agreed to keep Zoe's true parentage a secret. But... Overall, a great book. Would definitely recommend it to others.

Which character – as performed by Holly Fielding – was your favorite?

Both main characters were equally intriguing.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When he looks at Zoe. My heart ached for him!

Nauseatingly Boring

Leave it to Beaver guy and Annette Funicello meet psycho killer in Smallville. Wooden, boring characters for even a bodice ripper. Could have been an interesting story if there were even an iota of character development. The female lead’s ‘voice’ is annoyingly sugary and doesn’t say much more than ‘I want a baby.’ It’s all so 50”s. Skipped ahead to identify the killer to end the agony of listening to the rest of it. Do yourself a favor and skip this one.

Disappointing at best

I’ve read AND loved every single Marie Force book I’ve ever read or listened to. Figured I’d most certainly love yet another. The story itself would’ve and could’ve been told as a short story. Dragged on forever.
What a disappointment. Made the main female character Carley seem so weak and unable to think for herself! Annoying. The final plot was very anticlimactic at best. I’m seriously bummed about the story. Bummed about wasting a credit too. The overall story wasn’t horrible. Sad at times but not bad. Just wouldn’t recommend. As for narrator…? She just sounded bored! No matter the topic, character she wasn’t very good. At all! So sorry. I know from my profession the importance of referrals but I had to be honest. Read/listen at you’re own risk / credit. Marianne

Love the story!

I Love Marie’s books. However, I had to listen to this at 1.3 speed, this is not my favorite narrator.
