Publisher's summary

Phelan: I met my fated mate and she turned my world upside down. She's human, and doesn't believe we are fated to be together, but our chemistry can't be denied. Which is why I had to use a time-honored wolf tradition from the old country. Mating by capture.

I know this is technically called, "kidnapping" in the human world, and she'll try to bolt the second she is able to. But she's mine, she's not going anywhere, and I'll do whatever it takes to hold onto her.

Lola: I have always taken care of myself, thank you very much, and even though I was attacked by the same shape-shifting creature that has been kidnapping women in my city, I don't need a bossy, overbearing wolf looking after me.

You see, I have a plan in motion for my life. I'll play the part of the dutiful fiancee to stay safe, but my plans don't include being mated to my so-called "protector". It's true he's got that irresistible wolf charm and he's sexier than hot, buttered sin, but I have been on my own since I was a little girl, and I know I'm the only person I can trust.

The moment I get a chance to get away, I'll peace out this pushy dude and the nosy people in this shifter town.

Contains mature themes.

The Wolf's Concubine

What a surprised ending ! I never saw that coming. This book is a love story about a wolf shifter and a human he is protecting. Lola has been taking care of herself since she was nine yrs. old so she resents having someone else take care of her. She doesn;tt understand about being true mates. Will her independence cause them to fall apart ? Will whoever is after her succeed ? This was a well written, fast paced love story.

A struggle at the end

The story started off strong, but near the end the female MC became annoying and tiresome. This will probably be the last book I listen to in this series.

Wonderful read

I truly enjoyed everything about tis book except Lola's voice. I've NEVER heard a black woman sound like that. After a while it became a sort of a caricature for me. I also did not like that there was loose threads left. What happen to the half breed sheriff. Why did the evil women have a black daughter she didn't know she had, and why did she now appear? Is there a third book I've missed!! I do recommend this book. There's not many interracial stories. I need more paranormal interracial wolf books!!!!!!

Like a B movie

This storyline was not very interesting to me; it was a struggle to get through it. Even having a male narrator for male characters would have given life to this storyline. Pretty disappointing.

boring writing,wrong narrators

the narrator wasn't bad just wrong for the characters but she didn't have much to work. The female character was trying to sound sultry, I guess and then at some parts she sounded like a commercial for laundry soap. the male character sounded like a slow country bumpkin half the time.

the author needs to flesh out her writing. More atmosphere and detail. give the listener some interesting visualization. more description. the story is way to simple and flat and generic.

read Viking Wolf by Theodora Taylor. so much better. don't waste a credit with the wolf's concubine
