Publisher's summary

In a world where zombies battle the living, which is more terrifying?

David is trapped in a nightmarish version of his hometown, pursued by crimson-eyed demons and insane cannibals, with no idea how he got there. At every turn, he's taunted by a mysterious youth named Simon, who knows far more than he lets on.

David's sister, Kate, fights for survival in a word decimated by flesh-eating zombies– and her brother's one of them. She's determined to put a bullet in David's brain to set him free.

Nicholas Kemp is a human monster, a born killer. But in a world ruled by the living dead, he's no longer the most feared predator, and he'll do whatever it takes to become that again. He plans to start by killing Kate....

Chillingly Grotesque and Riveting!

Chillingly grotesque and riveting, the zombie apocalypse is here and it’s here to stay! I was alternately nauseated, and stunned speechless by the events taking place in “The Way of All Flesh”, but I was never bored! I also was never sure what side I should be rooting for, human or zombie! I flipped back and forth like the proverbial fish on dry land, my sympathies and support changing as the characters and story developed, AND as I got to know the characters better as the story progressed! I did finally come to a verdict, but I’m keeping hush so as not to play spoiler! I will say that this one, THIS brilliantly dark story is a jaw dropper and not tame by any means! Dynamically, beautifully voiced, clear narration brings every emotion, every nuance, every subtle or bold event to stunning life or un-life, as the case might be, truly animating the authors vision. The entire production earns five creepy good stars!

A heart-pounding world!

Prepare to be relentlessly plunged into a heart-pounding world where the line between the living and the undead is blurred. Tim Waggoner's gripping writing keeps you on the edge of your imagination, while Gary Noon's narration brings the characters to life with chilling intensity. Dive headfirst into this thrilling tale, where survival is a race against time and the true monsters may not be what they seem.

Different but also seen it before

Lots of different POV's here, which is fine; I can handle multiple characters and their viewpoints. The one thing is there is a zombie POV where they see humans as monsters. Its cool, but I also saw that in a comedy movie (can't remember the name of it) this isn't played for laughs and it works. There is also a serial Killer POV.

There are a couple things that take the book down a notch. Unnecessary romance, or poorly added might be better, as it kind of just pops up. Also, the ending needs work.

Performance is good, and the story is ok. Audio sells it for me better than the book would have. Still worth a listen if you dig zombies.
