A really sweet story. I just wish it was longer. it was over so quickly.

Fun Easy Listen

The narrator, I think Justine Eyre is an excellent narrator. She does a good job with male and female characters especially the prim and proper. There are books I will give a chance because Justine Eyre reads them. I gave her 4 stars because this story could not provide what is needed for a 5 star read.
The story, I gave 2 stars. So I consider 5 stars to be Tolkien, C.S.Lewis, Agatha Christie and a few others.
I appreciate that there was no bodice ripping or unnecessary sex scenes. This story was good for what it was, a historical romance I could listen to while doing other things. It was not overly intense and the heroine was portrayed well. She fit the time but demonstrated her intelligence and strength while remaining basically correct for the era.
I recommend it for a fun quick listen.

Perfection

Such a perfect book when you're in the mood for a sweet romance that you truly can't set down. This was sheer entertainment and just delightful. I must admit that a rake who reforms for his lady love is one of my favorite tropes. The writing was smoothly done, and the banter and dialogue were absolute perfection. I've yet to read a Mimi Matthews book that didn't touch my heart. I can't wait to reread this!

Justine Eyre is a wonderful narrator and really like the story line of this book Highly recommend

Clean, Mature Audience

I rate this a PG16 book because it is set in a time the English Gentry was full of immorality. The story is a beauty and beast plot. Although there are scenes which mention immoral acts, there are no graphic sexual details. The story is excellent except for it’s lack of transformation. The Rake changes because he falls in love is little weak for me

Short and sweet

Perfect story when you are wanting a good book that is easy to follow and wholesome.

A Fun Way to Pass Five Hours

Not my favorite by her, but I’ll admit that John Eyre is hard to top. ;)

A good clean romance but PG rated

This is a good clean romance story with only the amount of extra kissing and touching to make the mistake clearly enough for the listener to frustratingly understand the dilemma that the two have put themselves into. The conflicting results is what keeps the story interesting. I enjoyed this story and would recommend it.

My least favorite narrator ever

If I had seen this was Justine Eyre, I wouldn’t have grabbed this book. I can’t handle her shaky, whispery voice. I’m sure she does characters well, but they all shake and whisper and have guttural throat fry. I’ll give Mimi four stars because I usually like her books, but I simply cannot finish this.

Delightful Romance

Harkens back to my youth and many hours spent reading Georgette Heyer.

Definitely recommend to Heyer fans.

The performance of Justine Eyre was charming, and a pleasure to listen to.
