E. E. Star
The Irish mythology-inspired fantasy romance that’s captivating listeners worldwide.
The Violet Raven is a slow-burn, he-falls-first, high-stakes historical fantasy romance rooted in ancient Irish mythology—perfect for fans of Outlander, The Last Kingdom, and A Discovery of Witches—where forbidden love ignites in the shadow of prophecy, gods walk among mortals, and a girl bound by fate must rise to claim the legacy of the Raven Queen.
1823
Triona Sinclair was never meant for an ordinary life.
A spark of something powerful has always lived within her—silent and still, until the moment it finally woke.
A moment of fire and ruin.
With her world shattered, Triona escapes into the wilds of Scotland—flanked by four allies, each loyal in their own way.
But none of them challenge her quite like Finn MacGregor.
Her fiercest defender. The one who’s always been there—in shadows and in silence—and wanted her long before she ever looked his way. A bond as sure as the stars.
But fate is written with ink no one can rewrite.
Hunted for a power she doesn’t yet understand, Triona must seek allies in a world brimming with myth and memory. Survival is no longer enough.
A buried magic is calling.
To protect her world and the people she loves, she must decide if she can embrace the destiny that calls to her.
No matter the cost.

Star’s poetic writing is one of the novel’s greatest strengths. The prose flows with a lyrical cadence, balancing beauty with precision, and elevating every moment—whether tender, harrowing, or quietly devastating. This artistry fuels a captivating storyline that never loses momentum, weaving mystery, destiny, and choice into a narrative that constantly deepens rather than merely escalates.
At its heart, it is an emotional journey of remarkable depth. The characters are strikingly realistic, shaped by grief, hope, fear, and longing in ways that feel profoundly human. Complex relationships anchor the story, evolving with nuance and authenticity. Trust is tested, bonds fracture and mend, and love—especially the heartwarming romance at the core of the novel—unfolds with patience and emotional honesty. It never feels forced; instead, it blooms naturally from shared vulnerability and hard-won understanding.
What truly sets this experience apart, particularly in audio form, is the exceptional multiple-cast duet narration. The gifted voice acting of June DeBorahae, James Joseph, John Hartley, JF Harding, and Robert Hatchet brings extraordinary dimension to the story, allowing each character to feel distinct, alive, and emotionally resonant. The narrators don’t simply perform the text—they embody it, amplifying the novel’s incredible emotional depth and making every triumph and heartbreak hit with breathtaking intensity.
This is not just a story you read or listen to—it’s one you feel. It lingers long after the final chapter, leaving behind echoes of its beauty, its sorrow, and its love. E.E. Star has crafted something truly special: a haunting, heartfelt, and unforgettable tale that deserves to be savored.

The Violet Raven by E.E. Star
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book was pure magic, woven with love, loyalty, and prophecy, and steeped in history and folklore that clearly meant something to the author. You can feel the care in every detail, from the setting to the storytelling.
The Violet Raven is a slow burn in the best way, building tension, emotion, and connection until the moment it all ignites… and when it hits, it hits hard. The romance is tender and aching, but it’s not just about love. It’s about friendship, found family, and the weight of destiny. If you love historical fantasy with heart, depth, and a touch of magic, this is one to add to your list. I’ll be thinking about Triona and Finn for a long time.
After reading the ARC, I knew this story was special, but the audiobook elevated it to something unforgettable. Having seen behind the scenes, I’m blown away by the amount of work, time, and artistry that went into creating this production. E.E. Star did her research and chose the perfect narrators to bring these characters to life, and it shows.
The full cast is phenomenal, from John Hartley to JF Harding to Robert Hatchett, and James Joseph as Finn? That accent alone had me melting. And June… what a queen. After hearing her switch effortlessly between voices, I’m forever impressed by her talent. We should all bow down to her and the genius she brings to every role.
1000% recommend listening to The Violet Raven on audio. It’s not just a book, it’s an experience.
