A crashed wedding. A scorned vampire. Here comes the blood…
Necromancer Damian Vesik is no hero. At least, not according to the magical community that turns a blind eye to his battles against evil. So he chalks it up as one more thankless mission when he’s forced to stop his vampire sister from murdering her ex’s entire bridal party....
Infiltrating the ceremony to protect the innocent, Damian uncovers something even more sinister than a massacre. With the help of his berserker fairy friend, he may need to prevent an unholy union between ancient demons and the walking dead.
Damian has one chance to stop his sister and ruin the wedding before one hell of an afterparty dooms the world.
Days Gone Bad is the first book in the savagely funny Vesik urban fantasy series. If you like gritty action, undead enemies, and plenty of snark, then you’ll love Eric R. Asher’s heart-stopping tale.
Wolves and the River of Stone (Book 2)
Philip, Zola’s boyfriend from 150 years ago, is not nearly as dead as we thought. I really wish he was. Not only has he kidnapped Zola, but he’s raising an army to scour humanity from the Earth. Hopefully the local werewolf pack will help. What could possibly go wrong?
Winter's Demon (Book 3)
Some things can never be undone. The horrors I've defeated - or even caused - with my own hands … they are nothing compared to what’s coming. Philip Pinkerton has brought his madness upon my family, my own blood. His army of necromancers is on the move, harbingers of a great darkness. I fear the war has begun...and damn, I don't get paid enough for this.

Would you listen to The Vesik Series: Books 1-3 again? Why?
Yes, I found the story very enjoyable. There were very few low moments so the book kept my attention well. The voice actor was very good, there were only a couple moments where it was hard to desern one voice from another. The writing could use a little work, most of the dialog was "He Said" or "She Said," so I think the writer needs to work on his flow of dialog between characters. There was alot of forced humor, the writing frequently had the characters laughing uncontrollably at things that were not very funny. But over all I really enjoyed the 3 books and will be buying the next box set so I can find out what happens next. What other book might you compare The Vesik Series: Books 1-3 to and why?
n/aHave you listened to any of William Dufris’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
NoWas there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I have a couple of personal criticisms regarding the way these books are written, which is why my overall score is 4 stars. The story is fantastic and the characterization of Damien is entirely on par with Atticus from The Iron Druid, which I enjoy immensely. The narration as well is extremely well done, though I cringe at Mr. Dufris' Russian accent
My criticisms lie more in just minor aspects of how the book itself was written. I felt like I was being dumped into the middle of a story with absolutely no context behind various character relationships or interactions. We get more backstory on why it is one off minor characters we see for only a few pages know each other than we get behind the main characters we are following. Also: There is an irritating redundancy hanging around behind the narration as Asher solely uses the toneless and emotionless word "Said" to indicate someone had spoken at all times.
Ultimately these are minor criticisms and they didn't stop me from listening. I still greatly enjoyed the stories and will start listening to the 2nd box set immediately. I just wanted to share my thoughts!
An Urban Fantasy 100% Worth the time.

too many hours later I pulled a chicken-shaped chunk of charcoal out of the oven. these books are that good, the narrator is absolutely fantastic, and the characters are so intriguing that even though there are a lot of different characters it isn't confusing. I can not recommend this book too much.

The narrator also did quite well bringing life to the characters. I think the only complaint I had with him was also the previously mentioned chimichanga problem.
As others have mentioned this book does drop you in the middle of the story, but you mostly get caught up along the way. The characters are fun, and it is a different take on the interactions of the mythical and the mundane.
Right now (12/19/2016) you can pick this up for 3$ with the Kindle with audible add-on on Amazon. It's a great set of stories especially for the price. Take a chance and find something new to like.
