Publisher's Summary
Welcome to Nocturne Falls, the town that celebrates Halloween 365 days a year.
The tourists think it's all a show: the vampires, the werewolves, the witches, the occasional gargoyle flying through the sky. But the supernaturals populating the town know better.
Living in Nocturne Falls means being yourself. Fangs, fur, and all.
Sebastian Ellingham isn't known for being a happy vampire. And when his long estranged wife returns expecting to pick up where they left off, things take a sharp turn toward cranky. Sure he's been protecting her for centuries, but her assumption that he's still available (he is) rankles.
His answer is to hire a woman to play his fiancée. The lucky victim is Tessa Blythe, sister of one of the town's deputies, librarian in need of a job and, oh yes, reluctant Valkyrie. Playing along with Sebastian is all about the end game: earning the position of Dean of Library Studies at the local private academy.
When unexpected sparks fly between them, they agree to mutually deny the attraction. Fate, however, has other plans....

Perfect Match ~ Sebastian and Tessa!
I adore and love the Nocturne Falls series! Each book is a clean, romantic, suspenseful, funny, and book five, The Vampire's Fake Fiancée, is a great example of another well written story by Kristen Painter.
Nocturne Falls is about the super naturals that live in the town that celebrates Halloween 365; it's original, with lots of creativity. While the stories are about the Hero and Heroin falling in love, each story will include some of the other well know characters, and take us to some of the local shops that have the coolest names, like the pub called DOI (Drinks On Arrival), or Howlers, Mummy's the diner, Ever After the local bridal shop, and many more. Each story is unique while building up the town and the characters.
As usual B.J. Harrison narrations is awesome! He does a great job giving each character their own voice, conveying the different emotions throughout the story, and is consistent from one book to the next.
I highly recommend the Nocturne Falls series for any PNR fan who loves their stories clean and fun!

Vampires and Valkyries
I've read this book before and loved it. Listening to it made it even better. I'm not one to listen or reread books but this is one author that I'll have to say her work gets better every time you hear it. I take such delight in her books. Sebastian is my favorite of the Ellingham brothers. The heroine, Tessa, is wonderful also. I'm not going to spoil it but I can't wait until they have children. I hope that's in the plans for the future. I was so hoping that Elenora would get to lay hands on Evangeline. That would've been one fight I would buy tickets to. I want more of this couple. And I would also like to know what happened with Evangeline.
This is the best narrator I've ever heard. It's amazing how he can do any voice no matter the accent or if they are male or female.

The series stays great!
Finally Sebastian gets some happiness! He is introverted and so is the new librarian/valkyrie. The nasty vampire he married centuries ago is in town, just as mean and nasty as ever. The story is good, engrossing, and fun. Glad to have read this installment! See publisher's blurb for more clues to plot.
BJ Harrison continues to be the best narrator the folks of Nocturne Falls could have.

A slight but sweet romance
If you're a fan of the series you will probably like this. For me the story was a bit too slight and obvious with few true obstacles. It reads more like a very slight M&B with supernatural elements. It's fine, but not quite enough there with which to really engage.

Erm, disappointed
I'm sorry to say that after listening to all five books in the Nocturne Falls Series by Kristen Painter I must admit that these five, cute, and well written stories are going to be returned.
If I was looking for a gentle PG rated introduction to romantic fiction for a young teenager then this series is perfect.
There is no doubt in my opinion that this author is talented and Kristen Painter paired with the wonderful vocal performances of B.J. Harrison has been lovely.😐

The same but better.
Very over the repetitiveness of this series. Its not like the series is bad, but I would appreciate a bit more .... complexity? substance? intrigue? .... something more.
That being said this is probably my second favourite couple in this series. I like how all these stories link into one another and how the world has continuity. Some really good stories fall flat because they don't have that. Despite being superficial fluffy stories I would say they are definitely well planed out.
And even though it'll probably be more of the same I'm still keen to read the next book.

Rating the series as a whole
I've been listening to this series for a week or two now and am quite captivated by it as a whole. The stories are interesting and diverse, and for once we have couples that don't doubt each other at the first sign of an interfering troublemaker. It makes the story a lot shorter, but such a relief from the norm!! What I really enjoy is that all these stories force the characters to be open and honest with eachother in a very short period - 2 to 3 days for the longer novels and within a few hours for the shorter ones.
I love Kristen's willingness to branch out on how the supernaturals should behave. E.g. vampires can and do eat regular meals like humans, and newly turned vamps aren't all that worried about being tempted to kill their human friends.
BJ Harrison is a bloke and this is the first time I've listened to a man narrating a romance series: I love his work. Very nicely done. He has a tiny little bit of trouble giving sisters different voices but then I'm equally appreciative of the fact that he doesn't give them different accents like some narrators do in an attempt to differentiate the characters. The men in this series all have different voices and and it's truly wonderful to listen to the variety, but even better for these characteristics to remain constant throughout the entire series.

Sweet
As always Kristen delivers another story and it didn't disappoint, easy listening and no heavy drama just fun all around, the only complaint i have is there should be sex scenes thrown in we are all adult and it would just be an icing to the cake than and it make this good story to fantastic :P tnx xox
