At a crossroads between a cringe-worthy past (Todd the Toad) and an uncertain future (she's not exactly homeless, but it's close), Lucy Swift travels to Oxford to visit her grandmother. With Gran's undying love to count on and Cardinal Woolsey's, Gran's knitting shop, to keep her busy, Lucy can catch her breath and figure out what she's going to do.

Except it turns out that Gran is the undying. Or at least, the undead. But there's a death certificate. And a will, leaving the knitting shop to Lucy. And a lot of people going in and out who never use the door - including Gran, who is just as loving as ever, and prone to knitting sweaters at warp speed, late at night. What exactly is going on?

When Lucy discovers that Gran did not die peacefully in her sleep, but was murdered, she has to bring the killer to justice without tipping off the law that there's no body in the grave. Between a hot 500-year-old vampire and a dishy detective inspector, both of whom always seem to be there for her, Lucy finds her life getting more complicated than a triple cable cardigan. The only one who seems to know what's going on is her cat...or is it...her familiar?

I'm a crocheter so this book was hilarious to me I love the vampire story so far.

sometimes you have to knitted.

The negative first: I had to reduce the speed to .75, because the recording (whether it was the narrator's speed or the ultimate product's speed) was too fast for me. It took about 30 seconds for me to adjust once it was slowed, and then I appreciated the nuances in the narrator's voice. It was actually pleasant to have the delivery slow enough to contemplate the plot build. The best part: It's a really good mystery, red herrings and all. I'm very pleased to discover a new author I can admire and explore. The plot mostly all takes place in the knitting shop, and there are a wide cast of characters, human and paranormal, and some very delightful personalities, some scoundrels, and some charming sweet old ladies. And a tea shop I wish was nearby. In all, it's as good as an Agatha Christie, with just a touch more modern and a touch more potential (but not explored) romance.

Surprisingly well crafted mystery ...

I had the wrong villain. I love it when I can not predict the ending!

A cozy gothic mystery to curl up with whilst you knit or crochet. Even if you don't knit or crochet you may want to learn after you read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book already. 😊

A cozy spooky mystery, with a bit of magic. 🖤

The author does not talk down to the audience's intelligence in this light hearted book. It did a great job keeping the mystery simple but alive throughout. And I especially liked the ending.

Very entertaining

The Vampire Knitting Club is book 1 in the series by the same name. I found this book in the audible sale and thought I would give it a try. I am so glad I found it! I adore this introduction into the series. It kept me engaged from beginning to end. The story had good pacing and flowed well. There wasn't a lot of details yet about the supernatural powers and anything really in depth for the vampires yet but I suspect that is to come in future books. I found the characters likable, the setting quirky, and the mystery well done. I think I might have found a new series to binge. I already started book 2 and am halfway through. I'm excited that there are 13 full books already written and some in between novellas. This should keep me occupied for a little bit.

The narration was great. I didn't have any problems. The various accents from around the world were a little off, but that doesn't bother me. I can't do accents at all, so anyone who can gets props from me.

I recommend this book and suggest fans of cozy mysteries give it a try.
