Wonderful installment of a great series.
I enjoyed the bit of romantic suspense and interesting plot twist. As always Sarah Zimmerman is a fantastic narrator. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

excellent story progression
this series is such an anomaly for me. I enjoy the series, but really don't like the main character. Lucy is selfish and clueless and it gets so frustrating how dumb she is. but the side characters are so enjoyable! this story was interesting and I enjoy how the author writes the magic!

It's almost like the author listened
So many annoying/overdone formula tropes the author was relying on over several books almost disappeared this time around.
Even the one thing that always popped up in every single story popped up near the end of this one, but in a way that tied into a twist. Several times it felt like perhaps the story was branching off into another genre and I was okay with it.
It felt fresher (especially since this is the 12 book and I'm binging the series)
