Publisher's summary

The Traveler’s Summit explores the historically proven principles that have guided our greatest leaders for centuries and how we might restore these principles in our own lives...before it’s too late.

David Ponder is back, and this time, the fate of civilization may be in his hands.

Centuries of greed, pride, and hate have sent humankind hurtling toward disaster, far from our original purpose. There is only one solution that can reset the compass and right the ship, and that answer is only two words.

With time running out, it’s up to David Ponder and a cast of history’s best and brightest minds to uncover this solution before it is too late. The catch? They are allowed only five tries to solve the ominous challenge.

Listeners first encountered David Ponder in the New York Times best seller The Traveler’s Gift. Now, in The Traveler’s Summit, Andrews combines a riveting narrative with astounding history to show us the one thing we must do when we don’t know what to do.

Released in a previous edition as The Final Summit.

Critic reviews

“Every generation or so, God produces a person who can communicate like no one else. His words are like cool water to a thirsty civilization. Andy Andrews is one of the best I have ever seen.” (Zig Ziglar, motivator and best-selling author)

AMAZING!! BEST BOOK SO FAR!

Listened to this on a road trip, and as the story unfolded I didnt want to stop my truck. I dont believe there is another writer that tells such a great story, and also helps you out in life aa well as Andy Andrews.

Good not great

While I enjoyed this book, I probably would have enjoyed an abridged version. It ran long on the parts the author would probably say are the most important - the description of what humanity needs to save itself. In addition, while some of the voices were very good, the author was not as good as an actor might be. I found Gabriel to be dry and stilted - he reminded me of Data - the android...

Astonishing disclosure of historical people

This was such a great book. Giving us thought as to what is important to have us thrive as humans and do well.
The research and details given by great historical figures gives us deeper insight as to their work despite their life struggles and how they were chosen to be great mean with a purpose for a Great cause.

Previously released under another title

Disappointed, I was so excited when I got an email notification that a “new” book was available from Andy Andrew, that I quickly placed my order. Should have read the description fully… “Released in a previous edition as The Final Summit.” While true this does not diminish the great story, I found this practice very disappointing and deceptive. I will be much more careful in the future before ordering.

Traveler’s Series - Required Listening

I am never disappointed with any book by Andy Andrews. Each book gets better. Andy is a great story teller, in print, audio, and in person.

What Andy has created in this novel is Amazing!

Another thought provoking masterpiece. This book is not political nor Christian, yet begs questions from those understanding both.

Good story but overrated and jingoistic

I saw the very high rating of this story and read a few reviews and decided it had to be worth listening to. Though it was entertaining and clever in many ways, it was hard for me to ignore the blatant American/Anglo-Saxon bias of the story. Most of the "travelers", i.e. wise sages, are American or British followed by a smattering of Western Europeans and a token number from anywhere else on the world. And Christopher Columbus was on the list! As if it's the 1960s and we hadn't realized that he was not only not wise but was brutal to the natives he encountered in the New World. I'm pretty sure God would never choose him to sit on a council to determine the world's future. I tried not to let these sorts of thing bug me and just enjoy the story, but it was impossible for me to fully ignore the underlying American/Anglo-Saxon jingoism.

Overall, it was a good, relatively short listen but a solid 4 stars, nothing more.

Inspiring tale

For a second I was worried about the religious twist that things were taking, but besides the setting, neither the conclusions nor the moralities are religious in nature, and overall the tale was inspiring and fun to follow.

Do something.

This was another amazingly beautiful book by someone I hold so dearly for my love for history. Even thou I am not a Christian man, the books Andy has written touched me so deeply with meaning it is hard to see anything else but compassion and love in this world. Forever grateful to such a astounding storyteller.
