what the heck 😳 happen!!! okay that ending had my mind blown 🤯. like what the hell. but this book was really good I can't wait for the next book. the narrator did an awesome job too.

Vampire Pirates strike again!

When I first heard that one of my favorite series was going to be recorded in audio with two of my favorite narrators, I went totally fan girl crazy. This totally blew me away and it is just the prequel! You get just a hint of Aaron as Rane and he is just to DIE FOR. Sarah as Ember, you can't ask for a better casting there. It was a fantastic new way to experience a wonderful book and I am on pins and needles waiting for the rest of the series to release in audio so I can enjoy it all over again.

Action-packed from the start, The Time Traveler's Awakening sets the stage for the Magic Bound Saga. Although technically a standalone, The Time Traveler's Awakening sets the stage for future books that I cannot wait to dive into. I'm a little picky with time travel books but this one was a lot of fun. I liked the humor, especially Ember's reaction to her mom's reveal of being able to time travel.

Time Travel Mystery Series Starter Novella

Poor Ember is currently overwhelmed by her busy life of Medical school, internship and volunteer work and really does not have time on her plate for anything else- especially the big secret her mother drops on her. Her mom is a time traveler and most likely Ember has the gift as well. Ember needs to come to terms quickly with her apparent gift to help a friend of her mom stop others from damaging time.

So I knew this was a time travel story, but I had no idea that this had other kinds of supernatural things going on in it as well- and I could not be more excited for this turn! I don't want to spoil anything, but just know this was a very cool twist and I am a big fan.

I will say that I am totally shipping a certain romance to happen, but logistically, I have no idea how it could happen. I mean, there are A LOT of obstacles in the way (1000 years, species compatibility...) but a girl can hope, can't she?

Side note, the ending was shocking, and I am super hooked. This was a fast paced novella, about 3.5 hours long as an audiobook, just a taste of a fantastic world that I know I am going to love to get lost in. I don't normally seek out audiobooks, but I am glad I picked up this one because there was a lot of backstory I feel will be super important in the series. The narrator did a good job creating Ember as well as the side characters, so I would gladly listen to the rest of the series on audio if they are made into audiobooks (I already own book 1 and 2 on ebook so I can continue the series!).

Enjoyed listening

On a quiet Tuesday I started up audible and thought I would listen in. The Time Traveler’s Awakening was on my tbl list and so I started. Even with having chores to do, I was able to follow along. The narrators are captivating and have the ability to draw you into the story.
The story: This is a prequel and it give you a glimpse into the times that the author has you going to. From a seemingly innocent college student just trying to get through medical school, to a pirate ship filled with vampires running from the Vikings and a beautiful gem at the center of it all. It’s a story that’s engaging and a great start to this series.
