This title uses virtual voice narration

Virtual voice is computer-generated narration for audiobooks.

The FBI hired Augustine Carver because he was willing to cross lines other agents won't.

They just didn't expect him to cross them so far.

Now he leads a team of failed agents nobody else wanted—seeking their redemption handling cases nobody else will touch.

When ritualistic murders start surfacing—crimes steeped in religious symbolism and theological design—Carver knows there's only one man who can decode them.

The same man who killed his daughter. The same man whose eyes Carver took in return.

Father Hermann Zimmer sits in a psychiatric ward, blinded and waiting. His "congregation" is still out there. Still killing. Still following the dark gospel he preached from revival tents across America.

To stop them, Carver must keep going back to the monster who made him one.

For readers of Val McDermid, Chris Carter, Jeffery Deaver, and anyone who thought The Silence of the Lambs needed more religion and less redemption.

I didnt like the deadpan virtual voice. It had no inflection and some words were not correctly pronounced

This was a very good story, but the virtual voice was hard to follow and very distracting. Case in point, the emergency number 911 is pronounced nine hundred eleven by virtual voice. It is also hard to distinguish between female and male characters as virtual voice pronounces the same way for both. Please get rid of virtual voice

Great Story but hate Virtual Voice

AI reading is terrible! It was read so poorly. The inflection was so off; it made some of it nonsense! I’m pissed that I paid to listen to that 🤬 The story was good but fake reader screwed it up!

AI sucks!

The story itself seemed interesting. However, the virtual voice reading was terrible. it made the story seem bland and uninteresting. I would prefer to read a print copy of this book unless they have an actual person read for the performance.

Book seems good, but Virtual voice reading is terrible.
