Publisher's summary

All Lady Glynis Wright ever wanted was the freedom to live her life as she pleased. Unfortunately, her aristocratic parents want her to marry well and settle into a life of luxury. When her family becomes guests to one of the most fearsome and powerful vampires of all time, Glynis finds her fate is far more terrible than an arranged marriage. Trapped in the power of her new master, she fights for freedom, revenge against her creator, and the chance to be with the one she truly loves.

Bloody, horrific, romantic and rich in gothic atmosphere, The Tale of the Vampire Bride is sure to thrill fans of the terrible, yet romantic vampires of literary past.

This is no PNR

Would you consider the audio edition of The Tale of the Vampire Bride, Book 1 to be better than the print version?

I would consider it a good companion. The book jarred me, hearing the story brought to life gave me cold chills.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I didn't have a favorite character. I did however, like the overall description and personalities of each character. They all worked well together.

What about Carol Hendrickson’s performance did you like?

The narration made the story so much more chilling. I liked Carol Hendrickson's take on the personalities.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When she lost her family at the beginning.

Any additional comments?

This is definitely not a love story or a PNR, if you like a really dark and dangerous story then this is for you.

A Most Gripping, Vampire Tale!

You really won't be disappointed with this audiobook. This audiobook is most interesting. I especially enjoyed this vampire tale because It was like listening to a vampire tv soap story as it focused on and was built on the concept of a vampire family life. The tale was an awesome and intense display of the vampire world. The narrator was quite good. I loved this story and finished it in just two days time. I so, look forward to the rest of this series on audiobook. Rhiannon Frater is an author whose books I intend to continue listening to.

Misleading description

These are listed under romance but are not even remotely romances. Supposed she loves someone and wants to be with him, but half way through no such person yet exists. Instead she has been brutally raped and beaten.

It is ok for a dark gothic horror type book, but it is described as a romance and then doesn’t deliver and instead is rather disturbing.

Very disappointed.

Meh…

Writing subpar. If you took the phrases “this is madness” and “you are mine” out of this book, the entire thing would only be three pages long. Very disappointing.

A Very Different Twist on the Original Dracula

A tale told from the perspective of a fourth bride of Dracula--a woman who was turned vampire by the Prince of Darkness, became a sister to his other three wives, and finally escapes all of their clutches. But will she be able to remain free and build a new life for herself? I suppose I must read the sequel to find out! Well written and very true to the style of the very old Dracula movies. Very gothic, dark, and emotional.
