A Most Gripping, Vampire Tale!

You really won't be disappointed with this audiobook. This audiobook is most interesting. I especially enjoyed this vampire tale because It was like listening to a vampire tv soap story as it focused on and was built on the concept of a vampire family life. The tale was an awesome and intense display of the vampire world. The narrator was quite good. I loved this story and finished it in just two days time. I so, look forward to the rest of this series on audiobook. Rhiannon Frater is an author whose books I intend to continue listening to.

This is no PNR

Would you consider the audio edition of The Tale of the Vampire Bride, Book 1 to be better than the print version?

I would consider it a good companion. The book jarred me, hearing the story brought to life gave me cold chills.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I didn't have a favorite character. I did however, like the overall description and personalities of each character. They all worked well together.

What about Carol Hendrickson’s performance did you like?

The narration made the story so much more chilling. I liked Carol Hendrickson's take on the personalities.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When she lost her family at the beginning.

Any additional comments?

This is definitely not a love story or a PNR, if you like a really dark and dangerous story then this is for you.

A Very Different Twist on the Original Dracula

A tale told from the perspective of a fourth bride of Dracula--a woman who was turned vampire by the Prince of Darkness, became a sister to his other three wives, and finally escapes all of their clutches. But will she be able to remain free and build a new life for herself? I suppose I must read the sequel to find out! Well written and very true to the style of the very old Dracula movies. Very gothic, dark, and emotional.

Not your usual vampire love story

The person reading was good. The story had several rape scenes that bothered me, but the scenes made sense in the story. Not your typical love story that you read nowadays regarding vampires. By the end of the story I was hooked. There is a different woman reading the second story and her voice is grating, but I want to hear where the story goes.

No frills vampire story

First I must say this was very well written. Characters were believable and interacted well with each other. It was easy to feel the angst of the lead female, largely due to the narrator's excellence. What a treat to have a great story and great narrator together!

Wonderfully written

I really enjoyed this. The storyline was incredible. The world the author created was disturbing for what glynis had to endure. Narrator did a fantastic job as well. You were able to distinguish the characters and she just had enthralled with story. A great combination. Definitely a must get!!!

The unwilling bride

This audio book had me blown away. While listening to the narration I was able to envision the story as it plays out. Well written with strong characters and excellent storyline.
The story has a fast flow that you are able to follow along as the main character ( Lady Glynnis ) goes from being an outspoken young woman to a vampire. You are able to understand what is going on as she tell you her story. If you love vampire stories this is a perfect book. Fair warning this is not a love story by any means.

Vampire Bride

Rhiannon Frater is a one of kind story teller. I loved the backstory of the heroine. I found myself feeling a wide range of emotions listening to this book from sorrow and hate to mirth and pity. And the way she describes the surroundings I could picture it so vividly in my mind. The narrator's voice portrays Glennis emotions and feelings so perfectly and has a smooth clear voice. If your looking for a vampire love story with a twist look no further.

Too long.

I like the premise of the story. It was almost as if Bram Stoker had written from one of Dracula's brides side. It would have been a much better story if had been cut so much shorter. I think could have still shown the dilemma & pain that Glynis went through without being so drawn out. It started great, then dragged so much in the middle I almost gave up, but ended well. I will not be continuing on with the series for fear that they too are to drawn out. I love the 'Pretty when she dies' series from Rhiannon Frater, think will stick with that for now.
