I previously received the prequel to this book from the Author for free and fell off in loved Ruth in her Younger years! What a Kick she is!!
Great Story and Characters and I just Love the Narrator!! Can't wait for more!!

Great but censored?!?!

I’ve wanted a UK crime noir type book set in Wales for awhile now and was happy to come across this book but why, WHY, was it censored. Racial slurs are bad but if they’re relevant to the story, then let them be. I don’t need anyone deciding what I should or should not hear. Shame on Audible, the production company, narrator, and/author for allowing this to happen.

Censored?

Good story and very good performance, but the recording is odd. Sometimes it repeats, going back 1 or 2 seconds. And I have never heard an audiobook recording where profanity and racial slurs are censored out with electronic tones. It’s a little strange.

are we beeping pranity in audiobooks now?

I listen to audiobooks at night while falling asleep. having words beeped out is the most distracting and stress producing thing audible can possibly do. it is akin being slapped uwake. what adds to the insult is that the words are only shit and are etc.
