Publisher's Summary

Middle age doesn't have to be about hot flashes, irritable tempers, and no sex drive. Rigorously researched and engagingly written, Suzanne Somers' The Sexy Years is women's indispensable guide to life after 50. Making the case that the key to happiness lies in the replacement of lost hormones, Somers shares some of the benefits she had first-handedly experienced as a result: increased energy levels, improved sex drive, better weight management, and much more. Included are interviews with several doctors and such vital information as why natural hormones are better than synthetic, the difference between male and female menopause, and how a woman can reinvent herself after 50.

Critic Reviews

"Her enthusiastic writing style will especially appeal to readers who have been intimidated by physicians unwilling to offer alternative treatments to menopause's often debilitating symptoms." (Publishers Weekly)

excellent

Maybe the title should have been something else, but the content mostly dealing with bio-identical hormone information is very good. And it is narrated by the author who makes it interesting and entertaining.I bought it to see if it might be something my wife would want to read and ended up devouring and using the information for myself.

Smart girl!

Where does The Sexy Years rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Very informative, surprisingly complete!

What did you like best about this story?

It is a great book to begin your study of Bio-identical hormones. It explains pretty clearly and in simple terms the differences between natural hormones and the synthetic Hormone Replacement Therapies that ignorant doctors prescribe. I think they should read this book.

What about Bernadette Dunne’s performance did you like?

She made a serious topic entertaining.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

What a former "dumb blonde" knows about hormone therapies that doctors can't seem to understand.

Any additional comments?

Don't let Suzanne's Chrissy character fool you- she's no dumb blonde. She's absolutely done her homework, practices what she preaches... and it shows!

Good read even for a young girl

I am a "young" woman (42), according to Suzanne, but this was very useful and intersting information. She is quite brilliant dispite her reputation and I am gald I got this selection.

Made me feel worse about myself and being a woman!

This isn't for me! Depressing and too much information not needed. Made me question things that I didn't question before!

TIME WASTER!!!!!!!LADIES DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!

Worst book to date that I have read on Aubible.com since I have had my membership.
The narrator voice was extremely annoying which made it a hard listen. Not a lot of useful information in the book many of the chapter repeated themselves. which is sad cause it is important subject matter for women.
