Serially sensational!

If this serial thriller were a cereal, it would be Captain Crunch 🥣... tantalizing, crackling, satisfying, but so horrendously bad for you 🤤☠️😍.

Love the story, love the narrators, love the ending!! 👏 to Alice Hunter for keeping me listening until the very last minute because that almost NEVER happens! Not much more to say other than that this book is absolutely delicious. I hope it gets the interest it deserves!

Not Too Bad, but There Are Better Books with This General Storyline

The Serial Killer’s Wife is pretty much what you’d expect from a book described as a “domestic psychological thriller.” That is to say: the main characters are within an immediate family; everyone lies; the female lead is no intellectual powerhouse and spends much of the book belly-gazing; and — most of all, nothing thrilling or suspenseful ever occurs.

But never fear — I’m not knocking the ultra popular sub-genre that has taken the world by storm.
After all, we know exactly what we’re in for with these books. Once you’ve read 5-10, you’ve read ‘em all. And I, along with countless others, keep on reading them.

Here’s the bottom line: if you’re going to indulge in some domestic, less-than-thrilling, mildly entertaining listening, you have hundreds of options from which to choose. If you want to accurately predict everything within the first hour, try The Serial Killer’s Wife. If you want something a bit less like watching paint dry, go with, say, The Breakdown by B.A. Paris. Neither is literary gold, but sometimes one just craves an easy, no-effort-required domestic “thriller”. Own it, don’t expect too much, and enjoy.

Not a fan of the first narrator.

It is very difficult for me to listen to the first narrator. She seems to have too much saliva in her mouth. There are so many clicks and smacks.
Overall, the story is great! The saliva is disgusting.

Just ok..

I like the story, and I did like both narrators, but the female one got on my nerves a bit. There were a bunch of unnecessary pauses that went on WAY too long, stumbling of words, and too much saliva sounds. Many times I thought something happened, and the recording stopped because of the pauses, and when it came to the saliva sounds, it’s was almost like she had just eaten something and was still clearing it out of her teeth, or needed a drink. It’s hard to explain, but it was SO distracting. I was surprised that the few stumbling of words, or even the bad flow of the sentence wasn’t edited out and redone. Again, I didn’t mind the story, and she wasn’t the worst narrator, but definitely not the best.

Very Irritating Narrator.

Did not enjoy this book. It seemed to drag on and on and on. The narrator of Beth is very irritating and in fact may be why I did not enjoy listening to it. A wasted credit!

Must Listen!!!

It takes me FOREVER to listen to audiobooks, but I finished this in 3 days! It was so good. The story was twisty and suspenseful! I don’t want to go into too much detail as I don’t want to spoil it for you! The narration was good, and having 3 voices for some of the main characters was a nice touch.

Seriously, get this book.

Narration, plot, and characters: A+

I’m pretty picky about thrillers, so i don’t write reviews unless I was obsessed. The story had a good pace, hints were dropped along the way but nothing too obvious. Would recommend it

Farfetched storyline

The beginning gave this book so much potential but as the story played out it became just ridiculous.

Terrible. Simplistic and predictable. Awful. Only finished so I could warn others off. Do not waste your time. Poorly drawn unrealistic characters. Predictable plot.
