I adore Lucinda Berry and couldn't wait for this book... but I feel like I must have missed something. it was like being on the first hill of a roller coaster for ever and ever, and instead of flying down the other side it just sort of went down a slight incline and stopped. What just happened?!?

Short changed
Well where do I start ???? First I rounded the score up from a 2.5. The narrator’s take made me laugh out loud during some of the serious parts. Her voice wasn’t meant for this story. Then the end leaves you empty handed!!!! I could go on but I won’t 😳! This is the 2nd Lucinda Berry book I’ve read and it will be the last 😒

Can't stand this narrator doing a man's voice.
Why does the publisher or whomever chooses narrator cut costs by having a female do a male voice? Ruins a good story. The difference between being willing to use a credit or not. Thank goodness this one was a sale one.

Way too shouty. I didn't realise there were 2 different narrators they sounded so much alike. Both lacked any emotional range and I might've enjoyed this story more had it been more quietly and subtly narrated (often far more sinister).

Trauma, loss, love and desire.
Krystal and Nicole are foster sisters who have a bond that can’t be broken. They live for their early years with the horrible combination of Veronica and her mother. They live on separate sides of the house.
When Nicole is committed to a psychiatric hospital for trying to kill her husband Aiden, Krystal who is now a lawyer needs to get to the bottom of what is going on.
The story alternates from the present to the past and extremely well as the story begins to get put together one piece at a time.
There is a great storyline to follow of trauma, loss, love and desire. Well worth picking up. Would recommend.

Powerful well crafted
Powerfully read and a simple clean psychological story that is put together so well that it becomes compelling through curiosity with a nice twist at the end. The reader excelled adding to a well constructed book.
