Publisher's Summary

A secret romance sends three estranged sisters to the Amalfi Coast to follow clues about their mother’s past, and challenges them to a whole new future, in this emotional novel from New York Times best-selling author Jennifer Probst.

Priscilla, Devon, and Bailey haven’t been close in years, but when the sisters are forced to come together to settle their mother’s estate, they discover a secret. In an old trunk, they happen upon ownership papers for a house on the Amalfi Coast, along with a love letter to their mother from an anonymous man, promising to meet her in Italy during the summer of her 65th birthday.

Now they’re questioning everything they knew about her history. In order to get answers about the woman they thought they knew, they’ll have to go back to where it all started. The sisters embark on a trip to the stunning cliffside village of Positano, Italy, to track down the mysterious ex-lover and figure out who their mother really was.

As Priscilla, Devon, and Bailey unearth the truth, they also experience the magic of Italy, the power of sisterly love, a little unexpected romance, and newfound hope for the future.

love letters

The Secret Love Letters of Olivia Moretti is so much more than just love letters. It's 3 sisters learning who they while trying to uncover a love affair of their mothers. Priscilla, Devon & Bailey have lost the closeness they once shared as sisters over the years when their lives are all taken in different direction. After the death of their mother Olivia, they discover a whole different life their mother had at one time through her love letters as well as finding out about a house they own in Italy. There is so much more to Italy than just the house and an old love story. Jennifer Probst takes us on a journey of self-discovery for these sisters while also tracking a past that their mother never discussed. This is such a well written book and really makes you think about how everything we do in life and experience is a steppingstone in our paths of life.

Fun story but...

The narration for Olivia is overkill, way too dramatic, overacting, to the point where I had to forward through some of her storyline just because I couldn't listen to it anymore.
... and I have to say it, the way they pronounce Positano bothers me.

Secret? Mystery? Not so much

The only mystery here is why anyone thought this was worth publishing.

I love anything Italian and got this book looking forward to the vivid descriptions, the sights, smells, sounds of the Amalfi Coast. Instead I got descriptions of a “white wine” with a meal over “a bed of mashed spinach” and “frozen hot chocolate”! What?

Where was the editor? If I heard the word “gaze” one more time I was going to do something violent! Does the author own a thesaurus?

I’m not sure why I stuck it out to the end. There was certainly no payoff that satisfied.

That said, I could listen to Edoardo Ballerini read me the warning information that comes with a prescription. Maybe that’s why I stayed with it…to hear his beautiful voice one more time. If that’s enough for you get this book, otherwise move on.

Almost perfect

Overall the story was sweet and the performance was good. My only complaint would be the narrator of Olivia. I had a really hard time listening when she spoke. Overly dramatic. Other than that I absolutely love the story

An enjoyable listen!

If you're looking for a nice story about family connections, this will fill the bill. It was a fun, easy listen. The mysteries of the main character gently peeled away like an onion. Entertaining. And, I thought it was a lovely ending, it tied up all the loose ends. Great beach book, or sitting out on your deck on a nice day listen.

Great listen.

really enjoyed this audiobook. The narrators did a great job. The story was good with a long lost love from time spent with summers in Italy. Three sisters trying to find information about their mom when they travel to Italy to a house left to them by their aunt. Past hurts between sisters that need forgiving. New loves and healing with old loves. I really enjoyed the characters and how it all played out.

Fantastic

An amazing story of 3 sisters on a journey to discover secrets their mother held dear but never talked about. All while hoping to mend their own fractured relationship. This one is not to be missed.
