Enduring three surgeries in fourteen months, she received no empathy whatsoever from Captain X. Worn down, her life was filled with his constant mixed messages. Claiming she needed mental help, Captain X pushed her into therapy, resulting in more confusion.

Insisting on reviewing family finances, disbelief set in. Captain X had plunged them into serious debt, often using her name, ruining her credit. In what appeared to be a sincere apology, he begged for forgiveness, promising to make everything right. Instead, he filed for divorce.

Shocked, she constantly searched for answers and found them in Captain X’s computer. She discovered he was member of a secret brotherhood involving prostitution, locally and internationally during their entire marriage. When she confronted him, he immediately moved out of their family home, taking their child. She was a now a victim of parental alienation.

Tormented, thoughts of suicide crept into her head. Months became years spent trying to understand what had happened to her. What kind of man was he? Why didn’t she know the man she married? Thankfully she found answers. Captain X is a socialized psychopath. MrsXNomore always believed there was good in everyone, but now she understood that’s not so. The realization was frightening.

Recognizing that psychopaths (also known as sociopaths) often return to their past victims to inflict further pain, she fled the country to be far away from him, heal and write. Struggling to undo the parental alienation, to get her child back into her life, was just one more obstacle to overcome.

Like most people, MrsXNomore thought the label “psychopath” meant someone was a murderer. Ted Bundy came to mind. She had no idea psychopaths could be socialized and live among us, skillfully masking their psychopathy while manipulating and controlling people’s lives.

MrsXNomore learned that his devaluation and discarding of her, along with their high conflict divorce, parental alienation, and subsequent frivolous litigations were commonplace when dealing with a psychopath. As a result, she no longer has any contact with him.

Since experts estimate as many as 4 percent of people are psychopaths, a chapter titled Understanding & Avoiding Psychopaths helps listeners recognize and avoid these untreatable social predators without conscience. A final chapter, Suggested Reading and Viewing, provides listeners with resources to learn more about psychopathy.

Amazing One

This is so well written; the author does an outstanding job of putting the listener interested throughout the entire story. I am thankful to have this as part of my compilation and I thank MrsXNomore for being so brave and sharing her story.

Excellent Work

Truly, this book shows how life can be odder than fiction. MrsXnoMore has had the practice of a lifetime and seems to have won a life filled with lies, deceit, pain, and, isolation. The listener cannot help but appreciate her ability to defeat difficulty and the frustration of dealing with the gas Lighting and manipulation of a psychopath.

Worth a listen

This review pertains to the audiobook version specifically. I’ll leave commentary on the substance of the book for others, but I wanted to say that the author is a very compelling reader of her own work. Her voice makes the writing come alive and conveys an urgency that would be lost in print. It has truly kept me on the edge of my seat.

Awesome

It is skillfully written, for a while I was thinking, what is her obstacle? It becomes all too clear what the problem is when MrsX stumbles upon her husband's secret life. It is an amazing audiobook.

Hats Off!

The story is gripping, entertaining, and gives extensive support and advice. It's also disheartening to know this truly happened. With all of the consideration cropping up about narcissistic, sociopathic, and psychopathic abuse it is important to read stories like this one from an real survivor.

A Master Piece

This is an outstanding book as it gives a real-life sense into the world of living with a Narcissist. I dated one for nine months and that was enough for me. While listening to this book, signs could really be picked out checking some of what I went through.

Five Stars

This was a cautionary story and as I listen to it I thought on past friends and relations. Somehow I’ve been lucky to avoid knowing a psychopath. I feel for the author because of the separation from her daughter that was not of her making. For me, there is a takeaway exercise.

Well Presented

The behavior of a psychopath is predictably variable and Mrs X No more tells her story in a way that points the listener to many strange moments particularly if you have ever had the bad luck to be too close to a psychopath, and much serious if you were ever romantically involved with one.

Very Interesting and Entertaining

In this book, its a woman but men have experienced just as bad! I can actually compare to what the author went through. The author produces a vivid and disturbing expose of the deceit, lies, and abuse one goes through with a person of this type!

Job Well Done

The author does an excellent job of explaining the signs of individuals with certain personality disorders and this makes her work an important book.
